Vacationing and out of pocket for a few weeks, but had to jump on to see if anyone discussed the Olaf v. Carleton subplot.

Jordan Embry couldn't play last year because Carleton banned him from being on their campus for 1 year, so he decided to come back for his 5th year just so he could play Carleton again. Details of the ban were a fight on Carleton campus. Multiple parties involved but only serious penalty was given to Embry, which conveniently meant he could play vs Carleton last year. Olaf athletic dept people thought it was pretty shady. Could get interesting ...

This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

Headed to Johnnyville for the first time in about a decade. Perfect time of year for some football in the northwoods!

Glad to see the Johnnies win yesterday. Syverson had a heckuva day. But, man, this team has got to get some discipline ASAP. The penalties are absolutely out of control—13 penalties for 103 yards and 5 first downs yesterday.

When we do a post mortem of the season, fixing the penalty problem is one of the issues that will determine whether we talk about this team as very good or great.

And, there were more potential penalties that could have been called on both teams. I think the refs got tired of throwing flags.

Most of those penalties are incredibly easy to fix.  John had something with his "walk away" drill.

Hey, Duff,

What was the process of that drill i.e. how was it run in practice? Sounds like a great drill. I never heard of that one before.

They should be easy to fix.

Is it just me or are others seeing more of the "look at me" stuff lately: rehearsed hand shakes and dances, etc.? Call me a cranky old school guy, but it seems like that "look at me" stuff can pour over into discipline and focus issues.

Doesn't look like he put up any stats against Carleton this weekend, that ban might have been longer than he expected (unless he was injured).  He's not the first Ole football player to miss the game after getting in a fight on the Carleton campus, the other one I'm aware of was a lifetime ban.

You pushed/hit/kicked your teammate and he walked away without retaliating.  Our stretching/calisthenics were unconventional.  ;D

Rigged! ;D

By the way, I'm about to start a movement to have the UST results stricken from this D3 Pick 'Em. The *^$&*%! Toms got me again. Have a feeling I'd still be leading if not for the purple scourge.

Thanks for doing this AO!

As much as it kind of bothers me that SJU is charging $15 per game for an absolutely average video stream, when the rest of the league provides video for free, I'm consoled a bit by discovering that my "hometown high school" is charging $8 per event, $15 per month and $75 annually despite having a football team that is 0-6 and a volleyball team that is 10-12.
I get that finances are tight for schools but they're also tight for consumers. $15 a month is about the same as a Netflix subscription. An ESPN+ subscription is about $10...for $12.99 you can get Disney+ which includes ESPN+.
Just some things to consider.
