Just thought I'd stop by to inform all that I was at a wedding a couple weekends ago that served kegs of Grain Belt Premium (almost as good as Hamms).  I wanted to give the Groom the Purple Heart equivilent for great taste in beer.
I'm in another wedding this weekend, so hopefully it's just as sweet.

Kegs of Grainbelt?  It just doesn't get any better than that.  Good to have you back, Mongo ::)

Finsleft, if you are interested in camping out for the Stitungsfest, go to www.co.carver.mn.us/parks and look for Baylor Regional Park. They have a very nice camping area and it is about three miles north of Norwood Young America.

I can only assume that since the German Canadian Male Chorus of Calgary is going to be performing that Touchdown Tommy will be present, seated in the front row and drooling. :P

Whoa Nelly, the Shaw Bros are a very good band. Like Hairball, they really draw the fans. I will not be there Saturday night, however. I wil be at the State Fair watching Bonnie Raitt and Keb Mo perform.

Finslet, how are you coming with invites to the local sports media for the Stiftungsfestivities on September 9? Keep me posted. ROR, let me know how it is going with the sports media at the St. Paul Pioneer Press. I sent out an email yesterday to everyone at the Star Tribune. I have invited Mr. Ruesse to host the Saturday morning Sports Talk in Collegeville that day.

As to the Stiftungsfestivities on September 30, which is Homecoming, we are going to honor the memories of Eugene McCarthy and Paul Wellstone since the Johnnies are hosting Carleton. So far I have gotten out invitations to Coleen Rowley, Governor Pawlenty, Mike Hatch, Patty Wetterling, Mark Kennedy, Peter Hutchinson and Amy Klobuchar. I talked to Amy this past Monday at the Criminal Justice Institute and see seemed very interested in making it up to Collegeville for the event.

Finsleft, could you help me get out invites to local candidates in Stearns County for this event? Let me know. Thanks.

Not only that, but I somehow managed to beat the National Average.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Lots of Johnnie alum news today:

From Shooter...

)Former Tartan High and St. John's quarterback Joe Ashfield, who played and coached in Germany and New Zealand, is a football graduate assistant at Stanford this season.

) St. Thomas Academy graduate Matt Schnobrich (SJU '01) is on the four-member U.S. national rowing team that has a chance for a silver medal in the world championships this week in England.

Way to go Joe and Matt!

Looking forward to OAS's contribution to the Kickoff.  For those who haven't purchased it yet, based on last year, it is a great deal and well worth it.  Plus, it supports the labor of love that is D3football.com that PC puts so much time and effort into.

They are good - so good in fact that I got a little under 3 hours of sleep the night before my wedding.  I've seen them a few times as I have many ties back to Olivia and B.O.L.D. through college friends and teammates.  Most of their groupies are in Kandiyohi county  :D

Save me some corndogs and mini doughnuts at the State Fair, I won't be able to make the greatest gathering of obesity until late next week.

I haven't voted in the poll yet, but I have a feeling I know what the winning category is going to be!  :D

Well, congratulations are certainly in order - but you would've done better in property law.   ;D

BTW, your signature picture doesn't show for me, in either IE or Firefox.

Congrats to you KR.  That must be a great feeling.  Some pressure must be lifted from you as well having something like that done and out of the way.

Football season starts for me tomorrow as we present the 5th annual "Gridiron Classic."

16 high school teams playing 8 games over 2 days. It's quite an event.

I'll spend 2 full days at the stadium. Anybody want to come over?  :)

Here's the website if interested:
