BDB - I've got a couple teams playing in that I believe -- Pepin and Ellsworth -- but can't make the trek over since I'm swamped at the office.

Feel free to send me some PMs with commentary and I'll throw a quote of yours on my sports page :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

WW, I will.

Most of the games are on the hometown radio stations of the teams so you may be able to listen. I get interviewed on alot of them during the games.

Plus we have live remotes on 5 different radio stations in the area. You may be able to pick up 95.1 or 92.1 there.

WW, you should come over for sure. Those 2 teams play back-to-back tomorrow 2:30 and 5:00pm. C'mon over!!

I am serious, anybody in the Cities is only an hour away. C'mon over!!  :)

BDB - Like TDT trying to score with the ladies, I would if I could but I can't.

Got 5 football previews left to type up, a state amateur baseball tournament in town to cover all weekend and two Red Wing sports holding their season openers tomorrow. Did I mention I'm shortstaffed until TDT's buttbuddy from elementary school comes down from International Falls to be my lackey? Plus, Madden 2007 froze on me last night at 1:30am and I hadn't saved my franchise yet.

Basically, my life sucks right now and I don't need your temptations :)

Southern gambling.....

Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the crap table. A very attractive blonde woman from Alabama arrived ....and bet twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000) on a single roll of the dice.

She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I play topless."

With that, she stripped to the waist; rolled the dice; and yelled, "Come on, baby.... Southern Girl needs new clothes!"

As the dice came to a stop she jumped up-and-down... and squealed...  "YES!  YES!  I WON!  I WON!"

She hugged each of the dealers... and then picked up her winnings and her clothes, and quickly departed.

The dealers stared at each other dumfounded.  Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?"

The other answered, "I don't know... I thought you were watching."

Moral

Not all Southerners are stupid.
Not all blondes are dumb.
But, all men..... are men.

I would much rather be there than here today.  Have a blast!

You get the luxury of the first amateur kickoff of the season.  MSHSL doesn't play until next week (not like I'm waiting anxiously or anything...)

A man was at the country club for his weekly round of golf.

He began his round with an eagle and a birdie on the second. On the third hole he scored his first hole in one, when his cell phone rang.

It was his doctor notifying him his wife had just been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition and in the ICU.

The man told the doctor to inform his wife where he was, and that he'd be there as soon as possible. As he hung up he realized he was leaving what was shaping up to be his best round of golf ever.

He decided to get in a couple of more holes before heading for the hospital. He ended up finishing all eighteen.

He finished his round shooting a personal best 61, shattering the club record by five strokes and beating his previous best game by more than 10.  He was jubilant, then he remembered his wife.  Feeling guilty, he dashed to the hospital.

He saw the doctor in the corridor and asked about his wife's condition.

The doctor glared at him and shouted,  "You went ahead and finished  your round of golf, didn't you?  I hope your proud of yourself.  While you were out for the past four hours enjoying yourself at the country club, your wife had been languishing in the ICU.  It's just as well you went ahead and finished that round because it will be more than likely your last.  For the rest of your life she will require `round he clock care`, and you'll be the care giver!".

The man was feeling so guilty he broke down and sobbed.

The Doctor started to snicker and said, "Just kidding..she died two hours ago... what did you shoot?"

Congrats KR on passing the boards!

News from cobber camp...the starting defensive backfield will consist of 2 juniors and 2 soph players.  Should be interesting!  I watched the intra squad scrimmage last week and defense looked good, offense a little off with timing.  But in about a week and a half it will all be good to beat MSUM...then Bethel.

Thanks all!

I spread some k+ around this morning and hit everyone, I've prescribed you all a 2nd dose and will deliver it personally tomorrow morning after my run.

ROR,
Not sure if I'll make it 9/2 yet, but I'll be there the following week for sure. Bring your aches and pains and your favorite hard alcohol or beer. We'll combine the two and see if they don't cancle each other out!

Speaking of Golf, I shot a 37 today!!!*

Carlos Silva with an impressive feat so far tonight, 5 HR's given up including 3 to Nick Markakis who only had 8 coming into tonight.    :-\

We need Liriano back.
I hope we'll see Silva sent to the pen, and Neshek, Reyes or even Crain start in his spot next time.
Sorry to disagree with ya buddy, but:

Neshek has made it crystal clear he doesnt have any desire to be a starter; he relishes his role in the pen. Plus he is far more effective out of the pen and doesnt have the gas to be a starter.  Crain has been a closer since his college days, and was the premier closer in D-I at Houston. He could be a great closer or continue to be a solid set-up man. Reyes is one of only two  left handed arms in the pen, and I doubt he has the gas to go more than 2 innings.

As bad as Silva was last night, he's the #3 man till Liriano returns. Garza and Bonser are both maturing on the mound, and could surprise people down the stretch.

I agre that the Twins need to find a solid replacement for Silva (and one to replace Radke who is 95% sure he'kll be retiring after this season)... trading for Rodrigo Lopez is NOT a sensible option.

There is a nice crop of optential free agents to pick from IF Pohlad opens up his wallet (maybe you should ply him with some of your kool iad?)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

We haven't heard from OAS in a while, and www.STIFTUNGSFESTIVITIES.com has looked the same for months, which makes me wonder what he's up to.  Any news from that orange-clad geek?

Duff, I will try and get in touch with OAS to make sure he is till a resident of the state of Minnesota. I also have to get him some pictures of past Stiftungsfestivities so he can update the website.

Anyone going to make it to Chaska for the U.S. Amateur this week? If we can keep hosting tournaments like this, surely we could get the Stagg Bowl moved to Crown College in `06 so the Johnnies don't have to travel so far for their fifth national championship.
