In the 3 sports I have officiated (FB, BB, BsB) age was never mentioned at any of the rules interp. meetings.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

I know a few years ago Sacred Heart High School out of East Grand Fokrs had a few 7th and 8th graders on their varsity 9-man squad to fill severly depleted roster.

I thought the MSHSL rule relates to grade level-- 7 and 8th graders can play varsity sports, but 6th graders cannot.

I couldn't imagine a 7th grader playing varsity football, however.  Basketball, perhaps, especially at smaller schools.

I wrestled with a bunch of guys at SJU who were on varsity for wrestling as 7th and 8th graders, which blew me away.

In Ohio, you can't play JV or Varsity in any sport until you are in 9th grade.

FutureDocKR here making my daily rounds to deliver everyone's dose of Vitamin K+... No Bench, it doesn't come in a suppository but thanks for asking ;D

KR,

Took my son out to supper tonight he said the Biochem test went well.  Got a 96 so he was happy. Having said that he said he studied alot for it.

Congrats to your son! Scoring that well in Biochem especially the first test is awesome!

Here's a picture of him from high school.

As a former 5'11 180lb DE in high school, I think when I saw that picture I may have shat my drawers. Time to go check quick. Be right back with an update on whether I need to leave work to go get clean skivies.

Hi Gang! Haven't felt much like posting lately. Man, this has been a rough week. First, I do the Clorox/brake fluid experiment and get no smoke, Zero. Zilch. Nada. Then my favorite planet, Pluto, gets demoted from planet status. After all we've been through!  :'(
I think I need a Hamm's.

tmerton

On the clorox/brake fluid thing, I think you need a bunson burner.  As I remember from chemistry, every experiment could be enhanced by using a bunson burner.  :o ;D

Powdered Bleach, and Brake Fluid. Although this does not
pertain to electronics, it is a cheap, and easy way to start
a quick, large fire. Since these two ingredients are easy to
conceal, the chances of getting caught are slim.
Put the powdered bleach in a pile, next to, or on
whatever you want to light up. Pour about the same amount of
brake fluid on the bleack (enough to cover bleach pile).
A few seconds after mixing, you should notice some
bubbling or fizzing. At this point, stand back...the mixture
will give off a potent toxic chlorine gas. Depending on the
quality an amount of materials used, the fizzing will continue
for another 30 seconds to 2 minutes. The final result will be a
large colum of flame. Using a 3 inch pile of chlorine, I
obtained a 3 foot colum of fire.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Kids like you are the reason I have to make the kids use hotplates instead of bunsens!   ;D

KR, if you never saw 7th and 8th graders on Varsity Wrasslin, there must be a ton of tiny little jrs and srs running around Ohio!
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

Yeah, you don't see too many actual high schoolers wrestling at 103.  It's pretty common in smaller schools to have 7th and 8th graders as varsity wrestlers.

I don't remember ever using a bunsen burner since high school.  I remember seeing a few in college, but never using one.  Now, come to think of it, I think I have seen them used in our microbiology lab.

I actually used a bunsen burner the other day to clean some tools used to spread cells on an LB Agar plate!  They grew!

Mighty Royal

That's why they use them in the microbiology lab.
