What the hell was with that targeting call on Arneson in the second quarter? What a horrible call...i mean absolutely horrible

The officiating crew at SJU had some issues today.
Also need to give credit to the SJU o-line and running game. 249 net yards rushing and 7.3 yards per carry. It's been a few years since we had that stat line.

This needs to be cleaned up....and in a hurry.

I'd guess SJU had the opposite response BU had. We didn't play our best and then had a key matchup to follow. Came out dialed in. SJU Played a near flawless game and had a team they knew wasn't the top of the league. As much as coaches preach "take no one lightly" there's a human element that's sometimes inescapable.

I'm not reading too much into your Augsburg result.

I also think after Saturday, GAC isn't as good as I expected, BU is better than we looked last week, and SJU still looks like a #1 seed.

How do we allow auggie to score 20? GAC shut them out last week. I'm sure the penalties had some to do with that. I was at a wedding and only watched snippets of the game.

GAC did not look competitive at all yesterday. Not one phase of their game showed signs of life. They should win their next two games, but then they could go 0 for 3 last three regular season games vs Johnnies/Oles/Knights.

It was a bad call.  On the post game show, Fasching said the refs can/do review the targeting calls at half-time (this procedure was news to me) and "called off" the targeting call and allowed Arneson to play second half (I didn't catch that at the game).

There were several calls that looked questionable, not only in real time but on the "Gagliardi Board" replay. Refs were getting plenty of live reviews from the Johnnie faithful.

I don't agree with immediate ejection unless they revive video immediately. What was so bad about the call yesterday was that Arneson did nothing wrong. He made a perfectly clean play and offensive player initiated the helmet to helmet

Some Division III conferences are using replay to review and remedy this (and other potential officiating errors) in real time. It's not many, but there are a couple.

Reviewing a targeting play at halftime has been in place across D-III for a few years now.

Leave it to the Johnnie faithful to piss and moan after winning by Monkey Stomp. ;)

It certainly wasn't their best game, but there were a lot of positives, and Auggie Tech has some very good players.

Here's some positivity...I was able to watch most of the game in my phone this morning while recovering after a wedding last night. By clicking the 30 second fast forward I was able to watch most of the game in about a half hour.

Are they releasing an updated Top 25 poll today?

While the poll ultimately doesn't mean anything until the postseason for seeding, it is fun to see the Johnnies move up! I hope their play reflects their ranking & that they'll take care of business & make this a special season!

I did not expect this.  I thought we would still be behind UWRF.  NCC won't stumble, but Cortland might.  This could be a very good poll year for the Jays if they stay focused on each week as it comes.

This has to be the first time in ages SJU has been ranked above MU.... lol

I live in Northfield but have not had a chance to catch the Oles....4-0.  But after looking at their schedule, its understandable.  Also, they have the weakest schedule this year I have ever seen.   :o
