MIAC Championship Noon start is tip o cap to SJU.... warming up the noon hour in Collegeville for a nice playoff run...

I would bet we see an attack by the Bethel offense that is similar to what Concordia had success with earlier in the season. A lot of quick hit routes with a few deep attacks mixed in. Concordia reminded me of how SJU went after the U$T teams during the Erdmann ear.
SJU has to figure out how to get BU off the field.
I anticipate a much closer game and wouldn't be surprised by an SJU loss.
BU doesn't want to put playoff destiny in the hands of the NP. That said it feels like the NCAA will make sure two MIAC teams in this year.

Unfortunately, there's literally no way for them to do that. Either an MIAC runner-up is in the top 12 in NPI or not.

It must be getting near playoff time DustySJU comes out from the Big RED Tent in tailgate lot to D3Boards. It must be Hamm's time. I love it!
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Logan Hansen posted on X earlier, "The Top 100 #d3fb teams right now, using a composite of 6 different predictive computer models." No surprise that North Central is at the top. He lists Bethel at #2 followed by St John's at #3.

Pat - Are you indicating if Bethel loses they would not be in Top 12 NPI? I'd assume Johnnies would be Top 12 after a loss, but trying to understand your comment. Thanks.

I think he meant that there is no way for the NCAA to "make sure 2 MIAC teams" get in because there's no human intervention.  Pool C selection is 100% based on a calculated NPI value.  Either the 2nd place team has an NPI in the top 12 of pool C contenders or they don't.

And I thought (hoping) maybe some would mellow out after a couple of years. Guess I was wrong. And what is your problem? Guess you are part of the problem.

Quote from: DuffMan on November 13, 2024, 02:35:38 PMWhy would the MIAC give a damn about game times on the west coast this week if they didn't in any of the prior weeks?  They don't care when Linfield plays.  Week 11 is still regular season; after this week, NCAA dicates start times.

What the hell is your problem? I just threw out a theory. Time for you to grow up and act like an adult instead of a junior high kid, don't you think? Are you still upset because I teased you about losing to Bethel when you played. SMH It is quite obvious you have an issue with me. I see you didn't say anything about the other guy that suggested the time was changed due to not having lights. I'm sure if I would have said that you would have jumped all over it, telling me that SJU has lights so that couldn't be the reason. But no, you only jump all over my theory.

You are showing your ignorance that you think no one outside the MIAC cares about any other conference.

SJU Game Notes with an explanation regarding noon kickoff:

"The conference recently moved this Saturday's (Nov. 16) games - MIAC Championship Week - to noon kickoffs (from 1 p.m.). Since the NCAA Championships were moved back by one week a few years ago, combined with sundown occurring around 4:45 p.m., an earlier kickoff will provide more time to complete games without the risk of playing in darkness or facing late-fall weather challenges. Additionally, this start time aligns with the NCAA Championships' noon kickoff, a standard the conference often aims to replicate when possible. Nov. 16 is the latest possible date for the final regular-season game. The change is only for the final 2024 game of the regular season, as coaches will discuss game times during their annual business meeting."
