Just hung the pictures in my new office (we moved 3 whole blocks - almost as far as Fins has to drive to the game  :D) and I've hung the picture of the Johnnie sideline in the GA game over my computer (I've told the local UM grad that it's a picture of the Johnnies playing his skunkbears, so he's looking that up  :D).  Anyway, it's a beautiful pic and "makes" the office.    ::)

Wait, I think I see Duff down with the 30 yard club.   :o

tmerton,  Around these part UM or U of M are the University of Minnesota Rodents.  When referring to the Wolvervines, Michigan is how we state it up nort here, ya know.  ;)

Stoopid me.  :P  I'll make sure to reserve UM and U of M for the gophas and refer to the Meatchicken Skunkbears by other appropriate names.

tmerton, I'm sure you'll get plenty advice about how to talk Minn e so tan.  We don't have no accent up here, don't ya know.  We just phrase things a little different.  Hopefully we'll have some hot dish for you in the AM.  Nothing beats a good Tater Tot Hot Dish.

Safe travels overnight.

Awesome news BDB...I'll toast a Heineken Premium Light to you and your wife's continued good news.

I'm having some warm-up beers tonight with Dan Gladden's penetrating stare looking right into my soul...hopefully Phil Nevin can catapult the Twins into the playoffs.

I'll give a shout out to Mongo to see if he can make it up tomorrow or next Saturday.

I feel a little hurt that you would infer that the mighty Golden Gusties of Gustavus Adolphus College would be the lowly Michigan Wolverines.  Although I do understand why you would want a picture of SJU-GAC hanging up...the Black & Gold is one sharp looking uni..........we haven't beat them in how many years, I need something to grasp on to.  Duffman, remember that time I destroyed you on a trap play?

Greetings to all my dear fall friends, grammar Nazis, and lawyers, it has been far to long.

I'm very sorry I haven't been around to help fan the flames but I'm happy to be back regardless.  I'm sure you have all missed me especially my all time favorite duffman.

I would be lying if last season didn't take the wind out of my royal blue sails a little bit but I am once again very excited for saturdays again.

Unfortunately my new job will leave me absent for a majority of the season because I'm scheduled to be out of town thursday night-tuesday morning.  The city depends on where MNF is scheduled to take place.  The good news is I just upgraded my text message plan so I should be able to follow in that meager yet better than nothing form.

The word on Phil is a broken hand and if things continue on schedule he will be ready by week 3.

This weekend I do have off so we will be tailgating and grilling the traditional cheddar brats starting at 10am in the parking lot next to the field so if any is planning on coming please stop by.

Frank, while I think GA looks pretty good in the picture, I have to admit that my disdain for the skunkbears extends to the helmet design they appropriated from Delaware.  But if I think of it as the GA helmet instead of the skunkbear helmet that'll probably help.

How could you have blown Duff up on a play if he was with the 30 yardline club on the sideline?

frankrickard

Our senior year I killed him on a trap play and I never let him forget it...when you go 0-4 against a team, you cling to what straws you can grasp.

DuffMan, Johnnie Red:

Blugold fan here. Thanks for the invite to party on Saturday. Won't be making the trip over, but man, as the supper bell rings right now, I do have a craving for cheese curds...

As far as MIAC smack talk goes - you guys are not even near Opening Day form yet! I mean, I just caught up on 30 pages of MIAC postings, and the 'Golds were mentioned maybe a dozen times! Jeesh! (I wish it was a case of the Johnnies taking UWEC too lightly, but I'm not sure I'd bet on my 'Golds tomorrow.)

Here's hoping the game Saturday is as exciting at the one was last year in EC. That was a blast...

Didn't see much about the 'Golds scrimmage last week, and haven't been able to keep on the local paper to see who is starting at QB. They will be using a running-back-by-committee offense, and will return most of their D.
Maybe they will have a few more tricks up their sleeves for the Johnnies on special teams! ;)

Enjoy the ball game, gentlemen!

Oh, and someone asked here why the Blugold site says a "Tradition of Excellence." That motto, or at least the word Excellence, is incorporated into the school logo. Might not fit the football team, per say, compared to SJU's football program, but the success/history this school has had in hoops, men and women, could warrant such a phrase...

And, since I want to take the karma hits ;), to the one who suggested the 'Golds will be happy once their home-home deal is done with the Johnnies, because they've been spanked around so much: The nation's winningest D3 foothball program has only beaten the 'Golds 5 of 9 times.
Might be 6 tomorrow, but...

Willl be listening to the call on the radio, and looking forward to all your post-game analysis after...

Just talked to Mongo...he's a no-go for tomorrow, but there's a possibility for next week.

ROR, If I had time I'd watch a rerun of Fargo tonight before the flight.  I may give it to #2 son as a Christmas present, though he'll probably be able to do a reasonable imitation of Minn e so tan after his first semester.

I sure hope I can get some sleep; we'll probably have the FAs walking up and down the aisles picketing.

Have a good flight tmerton...look forward to meeting you tomorrow.

The Hamm's is going down well tonight...

I  know Radke and Liriano are hurt...but what's it going to take for the Twins to realize that Silva is complete garbage?

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Yeah Its like a guaranteed loss when he takes the mound.  Arggh.  So very frustrating to watch...
