Are you serious about only 600 tickets?  What a joke!

As announced at the Johnnie game yesterday, Auggie Tech is only going to have 600 tickets for Johnnie fans next Saturday when we travel to Minneapolis. Gates will open at 11:00 a.m. You would think the powers that be at Auggie Tech would move the game to Collegeville, St. Paul Central or someplace where they could accomodate all the Johnnie fans. ??

Football season already? Cripes. What happened to the summer? I guess I have to get back into the swing of thing, huh?

What a great day for football yesterday! It was cloudy and cold in the Cities when we left and when we returned, but it was warm and sunny at the stadium all afternoon. As they say, "the sun always shines on Johnnie football". Couple that with an nice performance from the boys and a sampling of the new Johnnie Ale at Sal's afterwards, and I couldn't have asked for much more.
Nice day, huh?

Hey Frank, I missed the game today. How did the Packers do? Are you ordering Super Bowl tickets yet?  ;D
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Has anyone heard from AO lately?  Are we sure he's alive?  I figured he'd have at least 3 pages of inane drivel on here by now.

Or maybe he's the opposite of a Bethel poster, and he leaves the board after his team wins...

faunch, I am serious about the 600 ticket limit. They were broadcasting this over the PA system at the game on Saturday. One more reason why Auggie Tech is such a unique school. :P

- Duff is as big as I expected and a super guy. I'd ask him to marry my daughter, but she is only 6.

I'm honored.  It was great to meet the legend that is BDB in person ;D

Sorry to inform you but the world does not revolve around the Johnnie fans.  To expect a school to rent another field just so your presious fans can go is absurd.

Perhaps the Auggie athletic department could see an increase in revenue and even in profit if they did?  I mean, profiting off of another's zeal is the American way!!!!

Ahh, I'll just stay at home and listen to the radio.  Or, we can tailgate outside the field with no intention of going in, I suppose!

Augsburg has new stands and word is the teams won't be on the same side of the field anymore.  I have to say there looks to be room for more than 600 but if you are that concerned shoot an email to Stoner the SID to find out.

Esq: I'm not sure if you wanna hang out the fenced in confines of Auggie Tech for too long. You may get mugged or assaulted by some of the local roughians.

Anyway, UST gets victory 499. Could be the 3rd Minnesota team to reach 500 this week vs. the Gusties.

FPM, got a little bee in your bonnet this morning?

600 is freaking ridiculous.  Most high schools pull in more visitor fans.  How are they going to limit it to 600 Johnnie fans?  Won't they let you in with red on after that?  I can't imagine that the Auggies will have more that a few hundred there, especially after losing to NWC.

Teams pick playing sites all the time with attendance in mind.  It's perhaps not so common in D3, especially where attendance is not generally very high.  But given that SJU leads D3 in attendance - and even that the MIAC led D3 conferences in attendance last year as well - I should think a limit of 600 fans sounds a bit strange.

I do think, though, that it would be up to SJU to suggest a change and that any change would require a guarantee by SJU to buy a minimum number of tickets.  Can't expect the Augies to risk going into the hole financially; they already know they're gonna lose the game.   ;D

BTW, I thought I heard/read somewhere over the weekend that the WRF coach said that if they had attendance like SJU the proceeds would support their athletic program for the year?  I can't seem to find it in any of the post game articles; perhaps I heard it on the radio broadcast.
