Fun fact:

Concordia enrollment -- roughly 2900

Female to male ratio -- 2:1

So...fewer than 1000 guys

Football roster--152 players, or about 1 out of 6 guys

There are only two dances that are worth doing anyhow. The Horizontal Rhumba and the Back Seat Box Step.

Coming this fall to SJU:  Women...oh wait, nevermind

Well women many not  be coming to SJU but another MIAC Championship is, probably a shot at the National Championship too, but hey Bethel has women so who needs National Championships. ;)

Watchman:

Sitting next to beautiful women in class (I was blessed to have snagged one of these from BU) or wanting to win a national championship in football..hmmmmmmm....I think I will go with hanging out with beautiful women in college year round rather than wanting a national championship in football and preparing for the next sausage fest, I mean lecture, of the day.

Mighty Royal

Um...classes are co-ed at St. John's and have been for a very long time. Sausage fests must be enjoyed elsewhere! ;) ;D

Although I have only heard Johnnie games this year, and not seeing them in person somewhat limits my knowledge (which will not keep me from spouting off like an expert in any case) SJU seems to have good balance on offense with Kofoed starting to show his promised brilliance, and Gearman dominating D backs if in single coverage. Lofboom looks like the workhorse out of the backfield. They have enough other weapons if concerted efforts are made to take away one man specifically. The defense is coming around as they gain experience - as is usually the case as a result of the solid coaching and use of athletes on that side of the ball. In summation, if the offense isn't getting it done, the "D" can cover deficiencies, and vice versa.

Wahoo:

How 'bout them Cavaliers? Nothing like losing at home to Western Michigan.

USTBench - Yep ever since Tiki left it hasn't been the same. The next thing you know the gophers will play them as their season opener. I think the Cavs will beat Duke in a couple weeks - at least we can count on that.

I hope they turn it around. I plan on making it to a game this year.

They're a good time, but don't forget your Sportcoat and tie. Are you in Charlottesville?

A guy goes into an adult store and asks for an inflatable doll.
The guy behind the counter asks, "Male or female?"
The customer answers, "Female."
The counter guy continues, "Black or white?"
The customer replies, "White."
The counter man asks, "Christian or Muslim?"
The customer says, "What the hell does religion have to do with it?"
To which the counter guy responds, "The Muslim one blows itself up!"

Johnnie Red

So any Cobbers interested in a pregame gathering at a local watering hole in Moorhead with a cast of Johnnies? Let me know. I will be driving over from Longville Saturday morning, which I believe is about a two hour drive.

Godfather: Mick's Office is the place to be.  Cheap beer and good burgers.  I trust most of the Cobbers on PP will attest to its greatness.

Achilles: Ummmm, pretty sure my fellow posters have duly noted the incredible "suckiness" of Bethel today and in the past.  This is NOT just Johnnies you must recognize.  It is Cobbers, Gusties (Frank, Mongo, Willy, Walter), and Tommies (Benchwarmer, etc.).  Also, note that THE most respected poster of the MIAC, Johnnie Red, hates no one...but I am pretty sure he strongly dislikes Bethel.  This should say it all.  You Bethel guys can yap all ya want (you do it each season, we are getting used to it) about this "top MIAC Defense" and Porta running all over the Johnnies.  But the bottomline is that you put up or shut up on 11-11.  And history shows you can NOT win in Collegeville.  When will you guys learn...

The Johnnies obviously chose a good year to duck Northwestern, who won their big showdown with Rockford in convincing fashion (21-14 in OT).  I really think this Northwestern team can hang with the best in the MIAC.  They beat Augsburg by multiple points, SJU beat Augsburg by multiple points...

Congrats to Bethel, I guess.  Gotta love the respect you are getting in the national polls with your sweet 3-0 start.  At least you're setting yourself up for a crushing letdown on Nov. 11.

Mighty Royal:  Chuck Norris facts were really, really sweet.   A year and a half ago.

Reincarnate TouchDownTommy;

You live again?

Why so hard on the Royals...?

It's always fun to see them disapointed at the end of the season.

Also, I was impressed by Keating.  He is nearly as big as Gearman and can make the play over nearly any average sized d-back.

Keating    6'4" 220
Gearman  6'4" 215

If little Keating is 220, I'm 160.

It must really suck to have to go back to 2004 to have a decent memory UST.

Yeah, they're not as lucky as the Bethel fans who have a 5-5 2005 to look back on, and a 6-4 2004.

I sat by some beautiful women in class and watched many of my best friends win a National Championship! Having 1 of the 2 is good, both is grrrrreat!

Besides, you were a kicker, by nature your priorities are mixed up :)

PS. Davis says hey and he called me a "Dirty Johnnie." True story, he introduced me to his dad as follows:
Ryan: This is Dusty, he's a 3rd year here.
Dad: Oh, very cool.
Ryan: He went to St John's.
Dad: Oh.

Any idea who is kicking this weekend for the J's? Is the Merry-Go-Round still spinning?

Duffman, to my knowledge there is no "kicking" coach on the staff with any real life (i.e.: who was once an All American kicker) status...what gives on that front? For all the stress this brings is there anyone else who gets pissed about blocked PATs besides me?

With 150 kids (some All-State H.S. kickers) why all the drama every couple years? Remember Keller wasn't automatic out of the gates either. Thoughts anyone??
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
