fins, as long as they weren't communicated to a minister/pastor or said during confession, we are fine. I got them via email and they were handwritten by a bunch of kids in a religion class.

Pat- How about a response to my question? (#18455)

Sorry -- missed it. Between T.O. news conferences now (conference No. 4 coming up).

You may find the TOS is a good guide on this: "I have access to the source of all posts -- I would not allow completely anonymous person to use a complex script on my server."

This applies to anything that passes through the site, in theory. If I wanted to, yes, I could, absolutely. But I have better things to do than paw through PMs and karma applaud/smite logs and file access logs and error logs. Like anything else, if you want to keep something private, take care over how you transmit it.

I think a postcard would be best. :)

9. E-mails and private messages are not to be quoted on the board without the permission of the sender. Consider respecting the sender's wishes to take a discussion offline. If you don't, we will. [added to clarify long-standing moderation policy 9/27/06]

That longstanding moderation policy from 9/27/06    ???

My solution....

Paraphrase!!!!  Ask long as we don't quote, no problem!!!!

OR forward the e-mail to someone else and give them permission to share the e-mail with others...

e-mail and PM are not considered confidential transmissions........I can't wait for the case..

"The Guru" v.  JR, Zip, ESQ, Fins, et. al

If you create a forum for open discussion, people who use to send defammatory e-mails or PM's, should be prepared to be outed!!!

Just my 2 cents!!!

With the caveat that the "openness" is subject to the discretion of the grantor.  In other words, what the maker says is open, and what he says is not, is not.

Put another way, the moderator can alone decide what content can be on this board.  That's not to say you can't take your PM discussion or contents elsewhere-- just not on this board.  Given that we already tend to run a bit overboard in our content (usually to our own enjoyment), we aren't used to getting hauled back in (except for TDT).

The POLICY was in place for years. I wrote it into the TOS for future clarification.

SJU game notes are up.

Carleton starts a Freshman and a Sophomore at the Cornerbacks.  I hope to hear "Crees to Gearman, pass complete" often.

All this legal stuff got me thinkin' about last year's discussion between FreeBird and SJU posters (I don't remember which ones)!  Can we just drop it and get back to football or Chuck Norris...or not?  Just wondering  :D

Mighty Royal

Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.

The player listed as a freshman at corner is actually a sophmore, not sure where that info was taken from as he is listed as a sophmore on the roster (and I know for a fact he was on the team last year).

Anybody hear about the 3 year old in Minneapolis who was brought to the hospital with like a .13 blood alcohol level?

ha -- you guys can have them

When they were just in NY it was a disaster for traffic, subways, people, etc.  What a mess....which we got another nice treat of last week with the UN.  Nothin says good morning like a motorcade coming down 5th Avenue with a SUV with SWAT guys hanging out the windows with M-16s.

That all being said, do we think that this weekends games basically decides the MIAC....or will there be games of consequence later?
