I'm happy for you.

Ouch.  The condescension.  The sarcasm.  I cry 'Uncle!' and can't take it anymore.  You have convinced me to forget my years at SJU and the fun to be had, knights.  I can't believe I didn't see it before.  All it took was some patronizing drivel from a sourpuss and I'm all fixed up.  I hope you're not a quack - you shouldn't be giving that help gratis.

About the game, I'm a bit nervous because UST seem to get geared up for this match.  Beating SJU makes a season for them.  And this game, other than the rivalry, doesn't carry a lot of value for the Johnnies.  UST's season lost value after week 2 (OK, week 3 knights, if you count the first week bye), when they lost their second game.

So, nerves?  Yes.  Confident?  Absolutely.  The players seem to have developed a good dose of maturity over the season.  Their confidence in themselves and thier ability to make good decisions seems not only high, but justified.  I think the CC game taught them how to pull a rabit out the hat and the STO game allowed them to make a statement when a statement was called for.  This game's message needs to be consistency.  The ability to self motivate and execute a great game when a great game isn't needed.  This game is the warning to the post-season.  I think the Johnnies will rise to the occasion.

Prediction: SJU, 42 - 10.

Also agreed, though I'm leaning toward a MonkeyStomp^2. That's right, a 441 point victory. Go red!

I just had a quick look through the stats between SJU and UST.  Surprisingly, UST isn't that far behind.  Particularly eye-catching was the fact that they are pretty strong on the pass defense.  Definite under-the-radar potential here.  This game, not only because of the rivalry but also because UST might have a bit of hidden potential just waiting for a chance to bust out, could provide a few emotional rollercoaster rides before the final whistle.

Geez, two weeks.  It's hard enough to deal with the anticipation build up associated with one week waits.  Two weeks is a killer.

I hope that the Oles are ready to get beat, beaten up, and.....**** kicked by the cobbs D on Saturday....  nothing else really to say...

Knights---

You are so right....I have not seen a game played by the Tommies this year (except the game film from 3 of the games..I rarely know what I am talking about, and have nothing to add to most conversations!! ;D

Sorry to hear about your son's injury....that is a bummer, as I missed a few games in my playing days with injuries....

HOWEVER, I will stand by the fact that the Tommie's D is AVERAGE at best.  Yes they do ahve a few nice players, but the SJU train is rolling, and not even tradition is going to keep this close....

Im looking at a score somewhat similar to the "game of the year" from '93..

I love it...the Johnnie-Tommie game isn't for almost 2 weeks and the crap talking is already in full effect.  You would think the Tommies would be more concerned about Hamline, but apparently not.

I need to come up with something sweet to do with the Tommie Fball jersey I picked up at Savers...something along the line of...Bethel College is bad.

I am currently a SJU senior and have been reading posts this year, but I have never written on this board before.  The reason I am writing this post is Life Safety has REQUESTED funding for tasers next year which I believe could dramatically change the atmosphere on-campus including during home football games.

OzJohnnie

It might add a wiff of ozone to post game celebrations.   ;D

What could justify the request?  Have there been riots in St. Pat's?  (More toilet paper! And make it the soft stuff this time!)

johnniesrock

The only way I could justify this is using them against an unruly Tommie fan.

WHY????

TOMMIES SUCK!!!

Wouldn't a Monkey Stomp^2 be: Monkey^2 Monkey Stomp Stomp^2?

Oh yeah, I did just go there.

TRU

Nothing like a Johnnie-Tommie game to bring out the best in the posters--pure hate :D However not many Tommies on the board.

I see the WIAC has started early on the claim that WW will run over all. Maybe so---  this WW team does look a cut above the average WIAC team with 300 pound linemen that are timed in the 40 with a calendar. I think the WIAC will win a first round game this year. I will given them that.

Knights just to remind you that many of the SJU posters are not young studs--( old studs maybe ;D) Not much has changed in 40 years when it comes to playing the Tommies. Use to love playing at STU and going to the dance after the game ;) Not sure if John still allows this as things seem to get out of hand faster today.

I think STU will be very high for the game and yes I have some concern- past scores or who beat who during the year means nothing. SJU  however should take it out as a win means at least the first playoff game will at home.

I won't be there for pre-game this week, but should be there by the second quarter, just in time for the 5th Johnnie TD.

Duff, thanks for showing me the pictures from the pre-game...I did make it to the game in the second quarter, and my prediction from last week was right on.  That game was a thing of beauty.
