USTBench

USTBench, you are right, the two should match up well.  Their was a great matchup on the O and D Lines for both teams at Bethel on Saturday. I believe the Royals Center Tommie Davis, and USTs Mike Rouse attended the same high school together.  Both are animals, and it was fun to watch those 2 go at it all day.  I think both beat the hell out of the other.  The tommies are tough, and it will be interesting to see how the CC UST matchup comes out, after seeing both teams, I am kind of leaning towards UST in this one.  As the week heats up, the real talk will be about the potential championship game looming with SJU and the Oles.  All kinds of scenarios here, but I think it is safe to say SJU has played the better teams so far this year and are still perfect.  An Oles win changes a lot of things in the MIAC.

I would've loved to have seen that game. Back when I was on the roster it was always a shootout with Bethel, now both teams have great defenses. Regardless, Bethel week is always circled on the calander. It's nice to see that the MIAC is a little better top to bottom this year than last year. I believe pretty much any game this year could provide an upset. Looking forward to seeing how UST deals with Carleton and how the Tommie D looks to stop RJ Jackson. It's true that Porta racked up 180 yards on Saturday, but he had to run the ball 41 times to do it. Looks like Steve Johnson was very interested in ball possession. The old adege, "They can't score if they don't have the ball" paid off. (Barring safeties of course)

It would have been so nice to have Michelle Bachmann present and watch her and Fins get into it. >:(

I heard she was there, JR, but she was hiding in the bushes.  ;)

Umm, seems like a bad place to hide around the Stiftungfestivities - did she get wet?  ;D

I thought it was a mutant over-sized 160lb squirrel I was showering... whoda thunkit?

Nelly,
Great story! +k... in fact +k to all in celebration of my attending taking the afternoon off since he was on call all night! ;D

PS. No better way to wrap up a great homecoming weekend trip to MN than stopping at Cabela's and buying a hunting vest!

Now all I gotta do is get the damn thing to stop smelling like people and start smelling like nature! ???

I know where you can come and do some hunting!! Yesterday I was driving through town and had four does and a buck run across the road in front of me! Scared the hell out of me!! This was on a busy street right by an interstate overpass!! You could set up your hunting blind there and only be about a block away from Wendy's, a pizza place and a coffee drive through! ;D

That sounds like a lot of the guys around here that I know that deer hunt.

What they actually do is go sit in some remote cabin or bar up north and if they happen to see a deer walk by out the window they run out and try to shoot it.  :D

We stopped at Cabela's on the way to the airport after the UWEC weekend.  Mrs. tmerton was pretty shocked at the size of the place.  :o I tried to get her to by an orange hat or a meat grinder but neither one seemed to interest her.

Too bad there isn't a liquor store handy! I always think it is a little scary when the liquor stores have hunting specials. Alcohol and firearms!!! There's a safe combination! It just makes me want to go for a walk in the woods!! ;D

Half the reason I go hunting is to get out in the middle of nowhere and get some peace and quiet, not to mention catch up on naps. Sounds like your spots would prohibit both of those!

BDB,
My uncle lives west of Madison and he hunts like that from his house. He says he'll never go back to the traditional way! Works pretty well for him, he bagged a 9 pt last year while eating breakfast.

Tmert,
It is a beautiful place! Did you check out the mountain of stuffed animals? Amazing what they can do with dead rugs.
Every time we head from Iowa to MN, we pass by it and every time I want to stop for hours on end. It's the only time I voluntarily go shopping.

Bennie,
Da beer is for after ya shoot da deer or at night after ya done gived up fer da day!
Ya can't drink too much while huntin' or ya might snore and scare da deers avay!
