HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!

From this old old Johnnie who still thinks Tommies suck

KR, I used the word hordes, not whores. Speaking of channels, how exciting is it to come to work to address a petition for the construction of a lateral drain tile into a county ditch? :-\

The reason I am writing this post is Life Safety has REQUESTED funding for tasers next year which I believe could dramatically change the atmosphere on-campus including during home football games.

Mongo had better watch out :o

Are you serious, though?  Why on earth do they feel the need for tasers?  Do you have more info, such as their justifications for the purchase?  In my time there, I can't recall them ever having the need for such measures.  I haven't seen anyone so beligerant that a tasing would be required.

Wouldn't a Monkey Stomp^2 be: Monkey^2 Monkey Stomp Stomp^2?

Pat, I can't believe that you went there :P  In all reality, though, wouldn't it just be a Monkey Stomp Stomp.  In order for the Monkey2 Monkey Stomp Stomp2 to be the case, you'd have to express it (Monkey Stomp)2.

Yes, I went even further!

Knights, where are all the other Tommies?

Unless some more Tommie posters show up soon the trash talking on this board is going to be even more one  sided than the game.   ;D

And to think AnotherJohnnie and I were math geeks, and we're not even going there...

I think SJU comes out flat again in the first half.  I think SJU plays conservative and basic.  Remember that, SJU has a good chance at hosting and therefore winning a first-round NCAA game, and if so, their second round opponent will get tapes of their previous two games-- in this case UST and the first-round opponent.  There is no way the Jays will want to tip their hand to a potential Whitewater or Oxy.

I think SJU struggles the first half and wears the Tommies down by the end of the second.  The Johnnies will be flat but much more loose than in 2003; they may lack motivation but do not have the pressure hanging over their heads.  They should pull this out, but if it is a monkey stomp, it will occur in a stompede in the second half.

My early vote goes to Dumonceaux.

The Johnnie D has been pretty dominating so far.  I think it all starts
up front and Dumonceaux has been the great disrupter.  Chasing the QB,
stopping the run.  All while being double and triple teamed.  And held on
virtually every play.

I believe I may have been the first one to make this call.

Duffman,
Thanks for the great pictures.
As I told ROR for his, it gives us oldtimers, who live far afield, a chance to relive vicariously our time at St. John's.

Strange as this sounds, I actually miss taking math classes at SJU. Dr. D was a blast.

FWIW, in my interpretation, writing "MonkeyStomp" is the same as using the variable X. So if X = MonkeyStomp and MonkeyStomp = Monkey Stomp, then  X2 = MonkeyStomp2 = (Monkey Stomp)2 = Monkey2 2MonkeyStomp Stomp2.

I'm going to have to go with Pat on this one. Sorry Duffman. Of course, I can't think of any sensible math rule that would allow MonkeyStomp to = (Monkey Stomp) in such a way that squaring MonkeyStomp = squaring (Monkey Stomp). So with that in mind, I'll have to go with Duffman. Sorry Pat. Hm, maybe we should forward this on to Dr. D to see what he has to say ;)

I think I just made my own head explode

I just don't get it. The hatred. I'm a Tommie and I dearly love several Johnnies and Bennies like they were my own kids. I guess I'm just above it ;D

Why don't we pose this question to the RPI guys.  They're the engineers, after all!

I'm partial to the MonkeyStomp2 = (Monkey Stomp)2 = Monkey2 Stomp2 interpretation. From my practical side, however, I want to know what a squared monkey looks like, so in the interests of bored board today, find me one, somebody!

Oh yeah, I'm done with the math talk.  I can't handle it anymore.

Good idea. In addition, they DID invent the MonkeyStomp in the first place.

Hmm, this brings up another good point. (Monkey Stomp)2 = Monkey2 2MonkeyStomp Stomp2 assumes that (Monkey Stomp) = (Monkey + Stomp). However, we can't assume a plus sign, so (Monkey Stomp)2 would really be Monkey2Stomp2. Nice work, j_esq.
