Scrubby - We understand you think the Royals have a better defense than the '85 Bears.

Well sure. Those guys are in their 50s by now. :)

Ditka vs the Royals, who ya got.

"Ditka now or 1980 Ditka?"
"Ditka now and he can't use his moustache."
"Ooooh no 'stache..... Ditak 42-3."

TDT,
Found the Dance line website for ya.

Very sad news, if you haven't heard:

La Crosse Student's Body Found

My thoughts and prayers go out to Lucas' family.

For those of you that haven't heard, there is a kid missing from Grinnell college (IIAC) who has been missing since last Monday.

Ever since Josh's disappearance 11-9-02 I have an unfortunate new found understanding and sympathy for the friends and families of those who have gone missing. Thanks again to all of you who have helped me through the times since that day especially the anniversaries.

I don't mean to pry...but is Josh a family member of yours?

Mighty Royal

No, just a really good friend from freshman year on.

One of my roommates junior and senior year and the best man at my wedding was Josh's roommate sophmore year, Josh's freshman year roommate was also my roommate senior year and was an usher in my wedding. Josh was going to live with us senior year.

The two listed above along with myself and one other guy were the first ones to start looking for Josh that Sunday night. We spent all night out in the woods with flashlights looking for any sign of anything until 6AM the next morning when Stearns county came.

We went to Life Safety at 10PM that night and told them Josh was missing. We told them we wanted to call Stearns County and they said that it was best to wait until morning. It had already been nearly 24 hours in sub-freezing weather since anyone had seen Josh. When I said I would call Stearns county on my own, they threatened to block out going calls from my dorm. We eventually called Stearns county on a cell phone.

I'll post more when I get a chance.

Silly me, I was disappointed EC didn't put up a better fight.

WW did a wonderful job controling all phases of the game.

I'm just used to seeing tough games against top notch competition every time my Raiders take the field LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL.

I assumed that would also be the case Saturday.

The Raiders sometimes get a pass too.
See MUC VS Muskingum (Sept 23)  42-0 at the end of 15 minutes!
1 drive, four fumbles and an INT I believe. It sure wasn't the defense.

Would love to see the La Crosse game but don't know if it's possible.

Do something about the grey haired guy, he appears to be a regular.
Muzzle, tranquilizer or stun gun maybe  :D

No problem, Raiderguy,
The WIAC has had a reputation of some serious parity in past years so it was not a bad assumption on your part that you would see a good game.  Last season, UWW just took their game to a new level and so far this season as well.  The LaCrosse game will be something to see at this rate.  Sorry if I am a little DEFENSEive as Retagent implies.  We, UWW fans, after a monkeystomp, have just heard the , "They are not that good, the other team just sucked," line a few times before.  But that is usually from a small minority.  A sincere good luck wish to the Raiders, (and the Johnnies,) for the rest of the season!

About the fan, not my job to watch him this season!! ;D :D ;)

I have had 2 different friends call me in the last 12 hours to tell me they are getting a divorce.

Freakin' weird.  :-\

KR,
What a terrible experience.  Puts the importance of football in perspective, doesn't it.  Prayers again to the Homan and the LAX family.

DuffMan,
You are correct. It was about Jim Lehman running for only 15 or 20 (I think) TDs - of course he's  almost 70.  :D

It's been pretty quiet on the board about Johnnies vs. Oles this weekend.  Haven't watched nearly as much MIAC ball as I would like so I have some questions.
1) What is the Johnnies strength on offense this year?  In the past, it has been a zone running game, which the Oles have struggled with, but their D seems to be improved.

2)  Can the Oles beat the usual team speed of the Johnnies, and will it be with a West Coast type offense and just take 5 yard outs if they are there?

Just curious.  Hopefully I can get there for the Homecoming Activities, if I can get permission from the wife.

A thousand yard season doesn't seem so great after all...

That's Madden-esque.

I'm worried about this week for the Johnnies.  We haven't played real well yet this season-- the offense hasn't consistently been able to run the ball, and the defense is not shove-it-down-your-throat strength.  They'll be up against a Stolaf team hungry for revenge after getting stung last year, so if the Jays don't come out firing on all cylinders, they will get beat.

There are a lot of holes to this SJU team-- injuries to key people, giving up long third down conversions, kicking game-- I for one think Olaf has the upper hand in this one.

Nope. 2 different guys from 2 different parts of my life.

1 guy I don't feel bad for. I would've dumped that skank he is married to years ago.  ;)

Who's in charge of pulling down the poll at the top of the page? ???

Agree with johnnie_esq - without offense to the Royals intended (okay, maybe it is ;D), this looks like the week the Johnnies are most likely to lose.  But then I've always been a "glass is half empty" kinda guy.   :(

I counted 22 Fla kids on the Oles roster - is TDT recruiting for them?

I just wanted to know what the SJU fans thought of the rest of the MIAC.  I only see bits and peices here.  I wanted to know if the MIAC was evening out or if losing the QB was a huge factor.  I did not mean to offend you at all.  As for the playoffs that is way to far away to even think about.  I don't know if the Dutch will make it.  Here in the IIAC to many teams left to play that will have a say in the outcome.  There are no gifts on the schedule.   One game at a time is the way it will have to be.  I just was curious as to the thoughts of yours.

He's too busy sanctioning TDT for silly things to do any cleaning up around here.

As for the SJU/Ole tilt, I agree that SJU can play much better, and will have to play much better to get anywhere post-season. But I also feel they've played good enough to win in the MIAC. That was a darn good Carlton team we beat last Saturday, but after some fits and starts, we were able to handle them. I expect a similar outcome this week. If SJU starts to click, we could have a much larger margin of victory. We'll see what kind of line Esq comes up with this week. I'll take SJU +13.5  ;)
