Is it classier to lead the league in personal fouls, or call a team out for their cheap play? You tell me.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

... but the guys played hard and not cheap.

I'm always amazed by how people can confuse playing hard with playing cheap.  Playing to the whistle does not include wrapping up a running back until the whistle and then picking up and throwing that player to the ground after the whistle.  I still don't know how #95 got away with that.  It also does not include jumping on a pile when the play is over.

I guess I know exactly where it comes from, though.  Bethel used to be exactly the same.  Funny that it started at Olaf a few years ago.  Not sure why, but I have a guess ::)

and Cobbernation, way to show off that Concordia education, very classy

Ole Eagle,

I am just referring to previous posts on the game yesterday with Ole fans saying that the refs lost the game for them.  Nothing personally towards you.

A lot of people still say Bethel sucks, but Mighty Royal is a good sport about it and makes jokes about other MIAC schools.  ;D

cobbernation

Wonka,

I didn't get a chance to find "The Count" yesterday.  I was busy watching the game and catching up with friends.

One thing though is Hamline's stadium is pretty nice!

Plus, the dance team didn't look that bad either!  But they are nothing compared to a certain Anna or Lovely Lisa!!

WAHOO3

Wow. I'll keep my comments to the game and the field. Its not worth responding to some of the ignorant comments about St. Olaf as a school or the program. I don't have near the time to comment and admit I can't keep up with those who spend all day thinking up witty comments to bash other MIAC institutions. People who know anything about St. Olaf as an institution, the integrity of the players on both sides of the field, or what MIAC football is all about should understand. All of which were obviously lost by the columnist in the Star Tribune today and on this board for the most part.

With that said, don't get me wrong. SJU outplayed, outcoached, and out everything'd the Oles yesterday. Kofoed was the most patient QB I have ever seen and he made all the right decisions after almost giving up a Pick-6 on the first series. The play calls were timely and on point. The screens, options, and tosses were all but one called away from Bechdol and it was effective. You don't need to have a healthy thumb when you can throw the ball to open guys 10-15 yards away. I was also impressed with his decisions when he left the pocket. When STO was on offense, I actually thought Penz played well. Didn't force any throws resulting in int's, which is tough against SJU. It all comes back to what I've said all along, you cannot beat the johnnies w/o a running game. The backers are too fast to allow them to get into the alleys. Well anywhew, I thought the Johnnies played well, and to be honest, I don't think they can play any better. I still contend the Oles have the players this year to get the job done, but if SJU executes that well (and the Oles don't), they are very hard to beat. Who knows, there could be a rematch in the future.

I can see that Wahoo didn't get admitted to UVA on good looks alone. The only issue I have is his dream about a rematch. But otherwise well thought out and  "Stay Classy!"

After reading the last several pages, I got to thinking--Who was that guy on WCCO radio that used to say:
"If you lose, say little. If you win, say less."?

wahoo3 - What Strib columnist are you referring to? The game story by Shelman (sp?), or was there something else done you didn't agree with?

I'll drop it after saying that integrity is not something you talk about, it's something you show.

Had an extremely busy weekend...instead of updating the score of the GAC/BU game...I had to order CSTV from my cable company so I could watch the Air Force/Navy game....freakin' sux that AF lost, but any given Saturday in college football crap happens!

MR, I guess we're at opposite ends of just about everything.  As an ex-Navy guy, I liked that game a lot!   ;) ;D

Good idea. You've obviously got an almost impossible task on tap this week in stopping the machine that is the Gustie offense. You'd be silly to still be worrying about what happened a week ago  ;)

The Shelman story was pretty vanilla IMHO.
