Must be a slow week around the MIAC when a kicker misses his only FG attempt and still gets player of the week!

9 PAT's is impressive, but that's more impressive from an offensive standpoint.

None the less, Congrats to Schmidty and Kofoed!!!

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I'd say MVP is going to come from SJU.  I'd vote for Dumonceaux, honestly.

A tradition unrivaled...

Can't be anybody but Dumonceaux. Check the stats. With SJU at or near the top in every defensive category:

If you've watched him play, it's pretty clear that his leadership on that squad is the main reason why. And if you'd ask his team mates, I would bet he'd be the unanimous choice.

KR, you be careful when talking about my buddy Anthony.   >:(

It was clearly the fault of the offensive line.   ;D

Dumonceaux.  He is the main reason the Johnnie D is so good this year.

It all starts up front, and Dumo is in the middle of it.

Not sure how the offensive line can make a kick go wide left, but the O-line usually gets blamed when the people behind them screw up so we'll let it slide ;)

All kidding aside, being a kicker is tough enough let a lone having to do it as a freshman.

Hopefully he can make some FG's against the Tommies and early in the playoffs to get his confidence up as well as Gag's confidence for when it matters!

MVP=DUMO, stats back it up and even though I've only seen one game, anyone who occupies 2-3 linemen every play and still makes a lot of plays and pressures the QB on nearly every passing down deserves the award.

I'd be interested to hear from LAB how/if Auggie's O line schemed to try to slow Dumo down. He has got to be a factor in an Offensive game plan!

The stats are particularly impressive when you consider that Dumo and other starters have been taken out early in most games. So those stats are for 1/2 to 2/3 of a season, compared to a full season for other teams. Same thing, really, for the offense.

Here's the big question...

Who is going to be the coach of the year??  We all know who it should be.... ;D

The only bad thing in Dumo's favor for the MVP, as that they might give it to someone else when he wins the Stamm Award.....If he doesn't at least win that, there is no justice in the world.....

the only way Dumo doesn't win the Stamm, is if they give it to someone in the WIAC, because (has we have been made aware in that board) they are the best/toughest conference in the nation!!!! ;D

fins - While the scores have often been brutal in the end, that statement is not exactly true. SJU has let every team - with the exception of STO - hang around. Just ask AO about Northwestern. The first halves have been ugly affairs and they usually turn it on in the second half. The Gustie game the starters stayed in until about midway through the fourth quarter I think and I would think it's been that way in plenty of games as the offense has underachieved most of the year.

So...what's half of 1/4? They haven't played 1/8 of the game? I know you lawyers like numbers, but that really isn't a big deal :)

Another tidbit about the Troll Trophy from someone in the know...The trophy was created after Olaf came into the league in 1974. The trophy was introduced in 75 or 76 and was the brainchild of Ernie Mancinin, who was the chaplain at Concordia at the time.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I think it's got to be Dumo for MVP.  Has anyone else played at a consistently high level in every game...especially the big ones?  My second vote would go to ritz for his "win" in the Hamm's Drink-Off.  Although the alleged cheating cloud surrounding him lessens his chance for MVP.

Anyone see that prank that LenDale White and Pete Carroll pulled off?  It was pretty hilarious.  Check it out at ESPN.

It's Wednesday and slow...KR, any new photo hunts?

OK Willy, assuming arguendo, as we lawyers like to say, that I am full of crap, my conclusions that SJU D numbers are outstanding and Dumo should win MVP are sound. I'll admit to anything as long as I don't have to talk to AO, ever again ;D

Check out the front page link to Pat's Playoff Predictions

He has UWW being the #2 seed in the North Central Bracket, and SJU Staying in the Linfield Bracket as the #2 there.

Not sure how the IIAC is projected as getting 3 slots while the MIAC and WIAC only get their automatic qualifiers... especially with Wartburg already having 2 losses to a 5-4 team and a 4-4 team, while Concordia has a last second loss to the #3 team in the nation...Wart still has to play Central, so either Central will have 2 losses or Wart will have 3 which I would think would eliminate both from Pool C consideration especially considering the amount of quality 1 loss teams ... but they know a helluva lot more about this than I.

Thoughts?

KR, I explicitly dealt with that in the story. Did you read it or just the team names?
