Oz-thanks for the message.  I responded to the WIAC faithfuls by simply saying that on any given saturday in the MIAC anything can happen.  The same happens in the WIAC, but I don't follow that conference so I can't verify the strength of the conference.  That bobble head who said that Stout could come into the MIAC and dominate must have misread their records for the past years.  They are consistently about .500 each year by one game or two.  I also could see La Crosse or Eu CLaire as a possibility as doing well, but still not very into the WIAC.

M&G-What time do you play in the Alerus Center this weekend?  Good luck with that.  Go Spartans.  Thats all I got.

You are absolutely correct the Cobbs hold a 2-0 advantage over the Cats and it's taken a long time to try and even the score.....here is a little of the history FYi...

In 1964 the game was played in Fargo, ND and it was just a "bit chilly" for the Cats from the Banana Belt Wine Country.. the temperatures were in the teens and the media reported that the Cats were "frost bitten"!

In 1978 the Cats lead the entire game until 2:00 minutes were left and a bad snap from center on a punt set up the final go ahead TD for the Cobbers.....a kind of fluke play (like the Cobbers suffered from against the Johnnies).  Final score 24-23.

So like Desert Cat 1 said we have to play the best to get to Salem so I say bring on the Cobbers.  Just like the Johnnies and Central there is a score to settle from the past!  The young Cats don't remember the history but I'm certain the coaching staff will remind them!

Must be a slow week around the MIAC when a kicker misses his only FG attempt and still gets player of the week!

As Nelson from the Simpsons says, "Ha Ha!"

I was thinking the same thing.  He seems to have a good kick since his extra points performance has been really good.  There is some sort of boogity in his head about FG's though.  I guess that's a hard call, since I haven't seen the kicks.  Maybe the special teams line is breaking down on FG's and he doesn't get a clear kick.  Regardless, I would be a bit worried at this point about a close game where the last second FG was needed.

Maybe the Johnnies can kick 7 FG's against UST and work out the kinks.

KR, I explicitly dealt with that in the story. Did you read it or just the team names?

You did deal with that, but my point is why project three teams from a conference to be in the playoffs when you don't think all three of them will be there?

Why not just put Concordia in your projections now instead of saying that they will probably be in there?

That's all I'm asking.

Duffy are you still recuperating from the Stiftungsfest last Saturday?

Anyone NOT from Olaf or Cord making the trip to Cobberland on Saturday?

Tommies should be shuttering in their polka dotted panties for the game on the 12th.  Johnnies with 2 weeks of prep = UNSTOPPABLE

DSJU,

What do you think about that game? ;D

Because Concordia is not the next-best team in the criteria anyway, so even if I took out the third IIAC team, it would not help your cause. I would put RPI in next, and there actually IS a chance that three LL teams could get in because they could all finish with one loss.

If Concordia goes to McMinnville, they have a chance to duplicate SJU's 3-0 all-time record against the 'Cats--Linfield owns a 28-6 loss to the Cobbers in 1964 and a 24-23 loss to the Cobbers in 1978.

you wanAre you sure t Concordia, desertcat?  ;)
