Repete,

We waited for SJU last year but you never showed up??  ;) So we had to go Stagg without you. :-*

DC1,

We wanted your boys to get a chance at Stagg glory.

Since we knew you'd never get there with us in the playoffs, we took the year off.

Now that you've had your fun, we're back baby and bringing the thunder!

The regional rankings are interesting-- lots of respect for C-M.  With a win against STO, C-M's RRO will be 1-1 as opposed to 0-1.  That will be enough to bypass Coe's 0-1 RRO and give C-M the possible 3rd slot in the West-- a potential second-round MIAC rematch, but at SJU this time!

My guess assuming Central beats Wartburg, C-M beats STO, and everyone else wins out as expected:
UWW gets moved North,
1. LC
2. SJU
3. C-M
4. Oxy
5. Whitworth
6. Coe
7. Monmouth
8. Central

Esq,

Would Linfield play Whit/ Oxy in your bracket to avoid plane flights?

This would probably put Central coming to SJU, Monmouth it 631 miles from Moorhead...maybe they get shipped out to play Oxy??? They're 476 miles from SJU, so I would think Monmouth ends up odd team out based on distance alone making them most likely to take a flight....or move to the North Central bracket?

Meaning Coe plays at Concordia...

It'll be an interesting logistic scenario for someone to work out!

Repete,

That was so nice of you boys to take a year off.  Now that we have it (Walnut & bronze)  I don't think we want to share it with you this year. ;D.

It's on new turf and not minus weather this time..  Remember I don't RED CUP..  Too cold in your place for me..  :)

DC1,

I was the one who made that statement... give me credit for my own blabbering!

Linfield is SJU's red-headed step child and this year will be no exception. Tell the butcher to start taking antacids now for the indigestion he must have over the thought of Dumo and Good setting up camp in his backfield... time to see how your kitty throws on the run!

KR, I don't get what you mean.  Whitworth would be moved up a few seeds to avoid an inter-conference matchup with LC in the first round with the hope of a second-round no-flight for the NCAA. So 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 etc.; then 4-5 winner gets 1-8 winner in round 2.

I got Cedar Rapids IA as 505 miles from Moorhead MN via road distance (Google Maps).  I think the NCAA fidgets the distance to avoid that one being a flight.  Monmouth IL is 476 mi. to Collegeville.  So the NCAA has two flights first round with the possibility of none in the second round.

I guess I thought avoiding 1st round flights was a major objective of playoff seeding/scheduling.

I see what you mean now.

KR,

I have to give the old man even more credit than I have in the past.  It was such a smart move for him to drop those three regular season losses last year to avoid getting embarrased in the playoffs last year out at the 'Catdome.

I really hope that we get another SJU/Linfield match up out in McMinnville.   The Johnnies look like title contenders again this year but this time we're the ones with an Elliott....not SJU.  :)

Can your Elliot run for 110 yards in the Stagg Bowl if called upon to do so?

Does he return kicks?
