dtrain;  There is no set format relative to seeding the individual regions... check FAQ on home page.  Good thought however, it may end up the way you speculate, I would agree.

I know it's not pre-determind (as in it was pre-99). It's determind on the playoff selection day. But there is a set format: They rank the brackets (or the number 1 seeds in each bracket) from 1-4. I'm speculating that the South or maybe the East will be the lowest, with the West the highest. I don't see the West and North meeting in the semi's.

DustySJU

dt;  I guess you are right, no set format however the regions are ranked and paired up... my oversight....  who ya rootin for? S J U...

If the Cobbs beat STO this saturday does that count as a win over a Regionally Ranked Opponent?

Does STO still fit that description??

Esq, are you looking to replace Pat C?  You're quite into this play-off selection deal.

This is in Jason Whitlock's "Nfl truths" column on ESPN.com's Page 2. Maybe in five years this will actually start to happen. Looks like Gagliardi's ahead of the field again...

4. Head coaches need to leave the sidelines and coach from the press box.

You ever wonder why football coaches -- college and pro -- consistently mismanage the clock and play calling? It's because things are much too chaotic along the sideline for them to make sound decisions.

A head coach would make better game-day decisions if he watched the game and communicated with his coordinators while seated in a soundproof room with several TV monitors. When you're seated in the press box, it's easy to see that San Diego nearly let the Chiefs back into the game because LaDainian Tomlinson carried the ball once in the third quarter. Head coaches get confused standing on the sideline and lose track of the flow of the game.

BU already had more than enough chances.  You have to win in order to get the trophy!

Johnnie

Thank you JohnnyRed (and your cohorts) for the great burgers at my very first Stiftungsfest last Saturday!  Delicious!!  :)

Stop by West Virginia on your way to Salem if you come this way.  There's plenty of extra room to eat, drink, and flop.

If you look back I think you can find that PC opined that there are circumstances where RPI could get into the West. Anybody like a Johnnie/Engineer rematch?  :'(

Replace?  I'd settle for the status of supplementing, but replacing? The guru is out of my league.  I need to do the cave meditation for 20 years thing to get to that status, and I'm going to punt and say, "my wife won't let me"  ;D

Sfury- great find.  Interesting, isn't it?

M&G, I just looked at the handbook and they changed the rules on me, I believe.  It is not the old rule any longer where you are once-ranked, always-ranked; now it is "ranked at the time of determination."  For more info, http://www.ncaa.org/library/handbooks/football/2005/2005_d3_football_handbook.pdf

Just want to throw a shot out to myself for turning 25 today...I got 2 30 packs of Schmidt's Light cooling with a possibility of picking up a third.

Even though I'm a Gustie, I want the Johnnies to host as many playoff games for selfish tailgaiting reasons.  That run 2 years ago was sweet...especially with OAS, Walter and I getting yelled at by opposing players, coaches, fans and parents...just think what it would have been like if we actually were Johnnie fans?

And we all know that Gustavus will run the table, find out that every team they lost to cheated so they have to forfeit their wins.  Therefore, the Gusties pick up the #1 seed and bring the Stagg Bowl title to St. Peter.

Can your Elliot run for 110 yards in the Stagg Bowl if called upon to do so?

Does he return kicks?

KR,  That's right you did not get to the playoffs last year so you did not see our (BE)  ..Maybe you will get a chance if you get out of  C town this year? ;)
