99 - NWC champ beats SJU (NWC champ then wins Stagg)
2000 - SJU beats NWC champ(?) for region title (SJU runner -up)
2001 - SJU beats NWC champ for region title
2002 - SJU beats NWC champ for region title
2003 - SJU beats NWC champ for region title (SJU wins Stagg)
2004 - SJU bows to your superiority (NWC champ wins Stagg)

If you follow the pattern, I'm sure you'll see SJU is in for 4 more West Region titles before the NWC is due again :P

duff,,

BUT , you forgot about the other Pattern..

B. Elliott Wins  NCAA 2003
B. Elliott Wins  NCAA 2004

See this pattern   :-*

We have the  only B.Elliott  This year.. ;D

dc1- did you read the sentence after the bolding?

If your predictions ring true, the NCAA still pays for one flight for sure in the first round (b/c someone has to go to Oxy) and then for sure one flight in the second round (b/c someone has to go to McMinnville), with the possibility of more, b/c Monmouth and Central (515 mi) are outside the 500 miles to Concordia.   So there is really no savings either way between yours and mine.

However, in my scenario, there are no intra-conference rematches in the first round.

I Like your's  Better  ;) I think the Rats will take Qxy if they get the Chance..    That would give the NWC a chance to tie the MIAC with wins after the cats bring home the Walnut and Bronze Back to Back..  ;)

DC1,

Is that a commonly heard phrase at your house? :o

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

d-train

Not that it really matters, but in 2000 SJU beat Central for the regional title. The Johnnies won at PLU in OT the week before...while the mud mishap was ensueing in Oregon.

Yep, you're right d-train.  I stand corrected.  Good thing there is turf at PLU, or that place would have been M-U-D-D-Y!  That was some rainfall!  I'm glad we don't see that in MN too often.

On a side note from 2000, after eating at the Old Country Buffet a few too many consecutive times on that trip (including Thanksgiving dinner), I shall never, ever want to eat there again!

The regional rankings are interesting-- lots of respect for C-M.  With a win against STO, C-M's RRO will be 1-1 as opposed to 0-1.

Negative. St. Olaf is not ranked this week and won't be next week in your hypothetical.

If you look back I think you can find that PC opined that there are circumstances where RPI could get into the West. Anybody like a Johnnie/Engineer rematch?  :'(

No chance RPI gets into the West. I never said that. Into the field, sure. But the West? Common sense people.

You're right, Pat.  I corrected myself in a post to Maroon & Gold a page or two back.  My bad.

So Concordia will end with an 0-1 RRO record, while Coe will have a 1-0 RRO record.

DC1,
You must have some friends in high places, one little insult and my karma drops 4!

I'd hate to see what would happen if I insulted WC11 (I'd obviously never do that to his face based on what I have heard about his pass rushing abilities).

So Concordia will end with an 0-1 RRO record, while Coe will have a 1-0 RRO record.

Good to see that Concordia moved ahead of Coe in the regional ranking - and Concordia still has St. Olaf left to improve its Quality of Wins ranking.

So 3 IIAC teams in the projected bracket ahead of Concordia, 0 IIAC teams ranked ahead of Concordia.  I know RPI is still ranked ahead of Concordia by some measures, but the LL still has 2 big games left.

I think there is a 90+% chance Concordia gets in.  I am glad that SJU has a 100% chance to get in.   :)

wildcat11

KR,

I boosted you up a point just on the fact that I'm going to feel bad when Linfield rolls over any MIAC team that comes out to the 'Catdome!  :)

I hear that the SJU loss in the playoffs will be brought to us and presented by Pepsi.
