Unfortunately for Porta, though, he got hurt early in the second half (after he had racked up 115 yards). Sounded like a leg injury and fairly serious. So hopefully for Bethel's sake he's okay for next week. Although their backup kicked the Johnnies' butt as well.

D O.C.

I see. Thanks sfury.

May his pain be eased then.

sfury...thanks for being so diligent in the updates. Kudos to Bethel for a big W.

Congrats to BU. Best of luck to Porta (it's harder to say because he's a Cambridge guy than a BU guy).

Major thanks to sfury as bearer of bad news. Everybody who relied on his reports ought to run out and buy a copy of his excellent football book, "Keeping the Faith."

Way to go royals.  Always going to be tough to win in collegeville and it may not happen for another 10 years, but if they keep putting teams like that on the field, I'd look forward to  more of the same.

You're an ass, AO.  A juvenile ass.  How old are you really?   The maturity of your predictably lame taunts suggests that while you have reached puberty, it can't have been by much.  My guess: 15.  Your older bother goes to NW, right?  You just like to play.

Well, congrats to BU.  They obviously wanted the win more today,  and they deserved it.  Your defense is very quick and your o-line played well.  Even though it doesn't qualify technically, I'd give you a Monkey Stomp for 28 unanswered points.

I don't think I've ever left a game early before, but I did today because I was so frustrated with the way SJU was playing.  After today, I honestly don't feel that SJU deserves a play-off spot, but I think they'll still get one.

Great time at the Stiftungsfestivities.  Lots of good people in attendance.  Ritz, your concoction was great!  Good to see SJU56321 again.  And for all those wondering, Willy Wonka backed down from the rumble.  Johnnie Red was looking mighty gangsta today, too.

Johnnie Faithful,

Is BU the real deal?  Sounds like they forced a lot of 3 and outs.  Any turnovers for SJU?  Overal thoughts on the game would be nice.  Thanks.

Nice Job Bu.

I wonder how many new BU posters will be chatting on Monday?

Cobber, I dont think many as 'TDT will fill up the site making the excuses for why BU Monkey "Stomped them.  It was nice to hear from the SJU fans on the sidelines admit the obvious, the Johnnies got their ass kicked.  Their words not mine.By the way where is TDT?  Not feeling like posting today?

I believe TDT was at the game so he probably just hasn't made it to a computer yet.

Monkey Stomp=21 points. So technically, no Monkey Stomp today...it just feels like it... :'(

What a great day, Oles win, Johnnies lose. Congrats to Bethel.

Oles win 35-31. They were down 28-13 at half after playing a lackluster first 30 minutes. Second half Oles had a 100 yard pick-6. It was a great last game of the year for the Oles. It was 31-28 UST w/ a minute to go and in the l ast seconds Penz to Shmeez on a fade to put the Oles up. Just a really exciting game, great way for that senior class to go out - UST played a very physical game. Second straight 8-2 finish for the Oles. Say what you want about Meidt, but back to back 8-2 seasons at St. Olaf hasn't happened since the late 60's ealy 70's.

Good luck to Bethel and SJU in the playoffs. Go MIAC.

Just looked at the SJU/Bethel box score. Bethel had the ball for 42 minutes compared to SJU 18. Thats the stat of the game right there. SJU only 3 of 9 on 3rd down compared to Bethel 11 of 24 - both bad %'s, Bethel 5 of 8 on 4th down, but 4-4 in the Red Zone.

Yeah, TDT was at the game.

It'll be interesting to see how the West bracket plays out tomorrow.  Pat, any commentary on what you think could happen?
