Another sleepless night left me wondering if the BU student antics this past Saturday gave new meaning to the term "Monkey Stomp".....

Developing.... :P

So do we host a Stiftungsfestivities in Pella this Saturday? I know there is a parking lot close to the stadium where we tailgated with the Dutch in 2000. Austin Murphy of Sports Illustrated was at the game and stopped by. Let me know your thoughts.

Dutch fans, can one of you get me some Dutch letters from Jarsma's Bakery for the tailgate party if it does happen? The letters are the pastry culinary delight of the world. :) Any suggestions on where to stay Friday night in Pella or nearby?

Might not be posting too much this week. Starting the murder trial today for the 21 year old who went into his parents' house with his buddy last January 15 to kill mom and dad. Mom was shot with a .20 gauge through the top of her head by the buddy. The son was going to kill his dad. Dad was lucky enough to escape from the house. Hopefully we will get the jury picked this week and start testimony next Monday.

KR, I am sure Dutchfan knows what he is talking about, but in the event you hear different, I know the main man in charge in the Athetic Dept.  Let me know if you have troulble, and I can get you tickets and probably a parking pass close.    As to a bowl like field, harldy anything like the Johnnies, and the visitors stands are small.  Good luck, the very least I can do for tearing up your field.  I would love to see a rematch of the BU/SJU game, and I wonder if necessary where it would be played, I assume BU. Pella is not but 45 minutes drive from Des Moines and I expect this one to be a mismatch, as the Dutch had a pretty good schedule, and I expect a pretty pissed off Johnnie team to rip Pella up.  Good luck, and in the event we do meet up in Arden Hills later in the playoffs, and should you win, you guys can carve the BU from the field and take it with you.....

Thanks! I hope you're right about SJU coming out p*ssed, they damn well better after Saturday's game!

Since Bethel is the higher seed, the game would be at BU. This would require Bethel to win 2 more playoff games than they have in their entire existence. It would also SJU to win their average number of playoff wins over the last 4 years (2).
As far as your BU logo, I'd just as soon leave it there and drop a little fertilizer to help the grass grow next year :o

JR,

Frick,
Just looking at the bracket makes me crap my pants..I am just hoping we can ride the momentum and Porta fully recovers to come out and take it to 'em next week!....ULAX then probably UWW...that is freakin' insane and they are both great teams!!!  Still glad we made the playoffs but am nervous about next weeks game!!

MR,
Did you just type "Frick" as in frickin' A? You keep those wild and crazy antics up and you'll be banned from Arden Hills for life!  :D

I definitely like our road a lot better than yours!

Wow, that's heavy stuff JR.

JR,
I know you'll see to it that he gets what he has coming to him. Will send email with some pictures of my recent travels later this week.

Welcome back to Pella, Johnnies. I was really hoping we would get to host you guys again, with a different outcome, of course. JR, you will drive right by Jaarsma's on the way to the game -- pick up all the Dutch Letters you like. Enjoy your stay. :)

Note to all BU fans. I saw the WW/LAX game this year, and WW was able to run pretty well on LAX. This would seem to bode well for you. LAX looked to be stronger against the pass. I know that WW looked good against everyone, but maybe Bethel can utilize what seems to be their best asset, the ground game, to "upset" the Eagles. Just a little positive thought this morning.

What are the Johnnies looking at from this Central team?

Touchdown Tommy

Well, well, well...I'm back after a crazy busy weekend.  First, congratulations to Bethel.  You were clearly the better team on Saturday in Collegeville.  Even when Porta went out in the 3rd qtr, the running game didn't drop off a bit.  I was unimpressed with Wetzel.  He has a ROCKET arm, but absolutely no touch whatsoever.  Frank, Wonka, and Dinny all concured with this assessment (note: all Non-Johnnies).

After taking a look at the playoff bracket it appears clear that although Bethel won the AQ from the MIAC they have the tougher road to Salem (hey wait, don't you have to win a playoff game first???  :o)  This Johnnies team is not a world-beater, but as my good bud DustySJU said to me yesterday "They've shown signs of brilliance and at any time even in the 11th, 12th, 13th game it can all CLICK".  Like the potential for a trip to the West Coast over Thanksgiving weekend (either LA or Spokane).  Central has a cool atmosphere.  New turf, very loyal fans, and good tailgating usually.

I'll be back later with further analysis.  But first I'd be remiss if I didn't say THANK YOU to Johnnie Red for hosting the Stiffyfestivities again.  You always do a great job and it is very much appreciated.  Thanks to Veek for the never ending bevies and the seat on Saturday.  56321 thanks for making the trip up to Collegeville, always good to catch up over a few Polish.  Will you be making the drive over to Pella?  Seems like a nice convenient road trip...Raiderguy and Buckman nicely done with the jello shots.  You guys are well on your way to membership into the exclusive Classless A$$hole Club.  Keep up the good work.  Ritzy that concoction was redic.  However, you've been figured out.  I'll let Frank Rickard handle this matter from here.  Stay Warm fellas.

Miacwatchman, lets hope not the bottom of their cleats....  I dont expect that.  They play a concordia style of football.  Right at you, no tricks, just smash mouth.  I think the Johnnies are ready for that.  I dont think they have the running talent that BU ran at the Johnnies, and their O line is nowhere near as good.  I know the Johnnies have to beat Central first, but to be honest with you, I am really looking further into Whitworth and Occidental Rosters and stats and style of play right now. SJU rolls in a monkey stomp in Pella.  Central does not have the talent to cover either Lofboom or Gearman.  Each get 2 TDs from Koefed this weekend.  And then onto other things.  BU on the other hand can win this weekend, and I think we will see them up against Whitewater.  Either way, SJU and BU have a good shot at the second round and I would hope one of them can get at least to the Quarterfinals.

Lets just hope both the Johnnies and the Royals show up this week!! Time to cheer for the MIAC.

ROR-
I've got a much better picture that I'll post after work. It doesn't beat Frank and his "Bethel College is bad" t-shirt, or Ritz holding up his two bottles during half time, but it will make do.

Johnnie Red...that is just awful. It is awful you have to go through with that.

I'm hoping it won't give you unpleasant dreams.

Good luck this week JR.  I can't imagine how horrible dealing with all this must be.
