While Central may have a chance, the Johnnies seem to always do well in the playoffs.  Go JOHNNIES and ROYALS!!!

The Johnnies are one heck of a program...dont think Im trying to take anything away from them.

Willy-  let's not mix our board content.  My Blazer hoops fan side is closely related to my Johnnie football side, since both programs are consistently the ones aimed for by other conference foes in the MIAC.

Jimmy G hasn't been worth his salt since the days that he was spinning Bananarama CD's for his "friends" in college.  I'm guessing that most of what he's accomplished in life has been due to his father's connections.  Anybody with ties to the SJU football program knows that Jimmy is the weak link.  My calling for his pink slip (which he probably wears well) is nothing new other than my posting it here.

I assume Lofboom won't be tripping on any 15 yard lines again soon, and that Gearman's hands will prove reliable, but neither of those plays would have kept our defense off the field any longer on Saturday, and a two point conversion would have been needed to tie the game.

Even the purple people eaters of the 1970's couldn't have stopped opposing teams if they were on the field for 96 plays, given the Johnnies' O snapped the ball only 44 times.  That to the tune of 42 minutes to 18.  That set of stats was the killer, and goes back to Jimmy.  The similar total yardage shows the ability of the players, the play count and complete lack of time of possession are signs of poor coaching.

I know Central's D is tough too (like Bethel's), but I think that the Johnnies come out on top next weekend if the number of plays from scrimmage are anywhere near equal.

Go MIAC!

Retired Old Rat

I think most long term Johnnie (and d3 football) fans are NOT taking Central lightly.  To go undefeated is a major accomplishment.

Most of those comparing the relative difficulty of UWLC versus Central are NOT Johnnie fans.

I expect a real battle in Pella on Saturday.  Assuming the Johnnies come to play.

Aren't they also famous for their two-lips? That's what I'd go there for.

Without a doubt Horan has brought some great enthusiasm to Cobberville, and I trust they will rebound to the top echelon of the conference.

Any more talk of him looking at other options, or will he be a lifer like Jake and Blinky?  8)

I haven't heard anything.  He just had his 4th child recently.  His family is all up in the Fargo/Moorhead area.  It would have to be a pretty nice offfer for him to leave.  The only one that I could maybe see him taking is if NDSU offers him something - since it wouldn't require a relocation.

This is just a thought, but I could definately see Horan coaching at higher levels.  But he is a Cobber at heart and it would be hard for him to leave Concordia any time soon.

To comment on Cord Glory's comment about coaching at NDSU, their could be a chance in the future thay may be an option.  Looking at Bohl and his progress he has made in the past 4 years is outstanding.  I can see Bohl being a D-1A coach real soon.  All I have to say is that D-1AA teams should be very happy that NDSU can't make postseason play, because to me they would be the team to beat.  They might even be able to beat Montana, but it would be a longshot.  Isn't that right CC Backer?

This smacks of a personal vendetta. I wish GAC had a "weak link" with national title credentials. Care to expand on your assault? Maybe move to include Jerry Haugen, since his son sucks but still starts? Maybe they should just cut the whole coaching staff after a loss and throw in the towel on the postseason too, eh?
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Early last fall Mrs. C and I made a pilgrimage to Minnesota and Iowa, where we not only were able to see a game at Waverly, but got to visit Pella, too. Dutchfan1 was our tour guide and hostess and we thought Pella was great.

You can't miss Jaarsma's Bakery, as it's right by the town square. We brought Dutch letters clear back to Oregon for a relative  Central has a nice campus. The field looked good, with plenty of seating, and back then they didn't have their new FieldTurf in yet.

We didn't have any trouble finding alcohol there either, or good corn-fed beef, so you're not going to starve. I don't know what Collegeville has, but we liked Pella.

Enjoy your trip, guys. You've earned it.

You know what they say: Pella, Viewed to be the Best. This year, it seems to fit the football team, too.

Go Dutch!

Yeah, yeah, and most of it low. I've heard that before.

We did appreciate your hospitality, though, and it will be fun for you guys to get to host a playoff on your new field.

Dusty,  Your favorite poster is back...and I'd like to get silly as well!  Shout out to my boy in the Roch of N.Y. along with silly guy and the pride of vermillion.  Not much to say other than Go Johnnies and Go Royals, I respectfully thank our guests from Iowa and Oregon for coming aboard and becoming part of the most viewed and used messaging page in Division III football (The MIAC)
