Redtooth, I am entitled to my informed opinion and believe the offense has underachieved this year, and that some accountability is on him.  I will go a step further and state that, in my further opinion, the offense has underachieved overall recently (since 2003) relative to the talent it has had.

He is a paid member of the staff and is not above criticism when warranted.  If I have gone beyond that, I will accept that and apologize for it, as I have written some posts out of sheer anger and frustration, which I should not do.  But I'm tired of giving coaching mistakes a free ride because they have had some great talent in the past that could overcome some of these mistakes.  I will leave it at that and move on.

PC,
Congratulations on 20M. From a little seed on July 7, 1999 has grown a great site. You have brought a lot of great times to a lot of people. Keep up the fantastic work.  ;)

Thanks. I wouldn't have thought 20 million was possible, considering we hadn't even hit 1 million on D3hoops.com at the time after nearly two years. :)

Solution!  I campaigned midseason to get our SuperStar the football and sure enough in the ensuing game KG garnered 6 touches on the game's first 12 plays and ended with 3 touchdowns... it's real simple...  give Kyle Gearman the damn ball!

MVP: Porta, he meant more to BU's team in the games he played than anyone else meant to their team in a full season. Plus it's kind of like a career achievement recognition.
Stam: Ledyard
COY: Ramler

Pat congrats on 20 million! I'm gonna claim credit/responsability for at least 500,000 of that ;D
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Okay, it is official. There will be a Stiftungsfestivities in Pella this Saturday morning. I'm hoping for a great turnout. We will be in the parking lot close to the entrance to the field. Hopefully the Dutch tailgaters will welcome us. The party will start at 9:00 a.m. Kickoff is noon. In addition to the world famous burgers, we will have a good supply of Dutch letters from Jaarsma's Bakery on hand for consumption.

If you are planning to attend, bring along a culinary delight to share. I have been advised that adult beverages need to be in red cups, comparable to Collegeville.

Jury selection starts today. I actually got a call from 48 Hours in New York yesterday about the homicide case. That was a little different.

Since I will be in Pella Friday night, let me know if anyone wants to get together at one of the local watering holes for adult beverages.

As far as the Hawks,

I havine't followed them as much with a son playing on the Dutch team.  I think that the injury bug has bit them kind of hard this year.  They aren't real deep as they have been in the past (or at least the subs haven't performed).  I think it says a lot when the subs can't or don't fill the first stringers shoes.  It is a cycle I guess.

I am sure the Johnnies have a good pass rush we will just have to see how our QB adjusts.

MVP: Phil Porta...Can there be any doubt? Sure, Bethel ran the ball on SJU after he got hurt, but you don't run for over 4,000 yards in a MIAC career unless you've got major gifts.  The lad is seriously special.

Stam: Ryan Wassink...The anchor of the best O-line in the conference.

Coach: Steve Johnson...He's the head coach, but he also coaches the hogs that plow the road for Porta. Of the three Bethel teams that now hold a MIAC title belt, this has to be his best coaching job.

Yeah I know the picks aren't exactly bi-partisan, but they all have legit claims to their crowns.

cheese

Realizing my own biases, I wouldn't be too surprised for a Bethel clean sweep of the "big three" post season awards.

MVP:  Porta seems to have quite a bit of support for this.
Stamm:  Wassink: has been blocking for Phil for four years.  An absolute machine on the o-line.
Coach:  I'd say it could be a toss up between Coach J and Gags successor sitting in Northfield.

From someone's perspective who doesn't have a child on the Dutch FB team, the Hawks HAVE been bitten by the injury bug, but that isn't the reason for their lack of success this year.  There are so many factors that add to their recent failures, I will only go into a few...

First, INCONSISTENCY!!  Drew Tate is NOT accurate right now, and when he's on, his receivers consistently drop passes.  Tate is not the leader the Hawks need this year... he throws a lot of blame on other players for not making impossible plays and barely ever takes the heat on himself.  For example... he hurt his ankle on a third down play this past weekend towards the end of the game, and instead of taking the injury TO and letting Jake Christensen play 1 down, he took the team's last TO and decided the game right there.  Some would argue that he's the one to be out there, but selfishness ruled that decision.  Finally, Iowa's DB's are HORRIBLE!!!  Can I repeat... HORRIBLE!!  That couples with no pass rush, and the Hawks are NOT the animals on D that they've been over the past 5 years.
The only thing capable of cutting Chuck Norris is Chuck Norris...

I will bow to the Informed, Inside opinions of Redtooth. I guess Johnnie_Esq just can't help himself. Those on the left are just genetically predisposed to use ad hominum attacks. Oops, Did I just do that too?

It would be interesting to know how many plays calls Jim made for Linneman and Keating and how many he makes for Kofoed. I saw Kofoed check off to Gearman for little slant pass-maybe Kofoed should be calling more of his own plays. But, not sure the offense was the real problem-when the defense can't get off the field-doesn't bode well.

Does anyone know the status of Rick Dold for this weekend?
