I don't blame OJ.  It is the American way.  Don't hate the playa, hate the game!!

You Florida guys certainly stick together.  :P

What assets?

He likely moved them all out of state, and thus California cannot seize assets that aren't in California.  I don't know much about California law, but I can tell you that if he has sold all of his California assets to pay for his legal fees, going back to California with assets is problematic for him.

Sounds like all he has is a Pension (which, apparently, under California law cannot be seized).  If the has a bank account, though, they could levy it, so my guess is he won't be the beneficiary of these funds-- probably a trust however, with he as beneficiary.

I'm not buying his book, nor will I watch the interview-- clearly a media hound, and we'd be paying to support an individual who owes $33 million to other people.

The answer is FL law.  Juice moved all his assets out of CA to FL.

So I just have to move my assets to FL and I can quit paying my bills??   ???   Good to know that in my current line of employment I won't have to worry about accumulating millions of dollars in assets!!   ;D

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Johnnie Esq,

You are correct on a major element of OJ's asset protection fund.  Prior to conviction and judgement, he placed most of his assets into a charitable remainder trust that pays him an income stream for life, but is free from claims of creditors.

A couple of years ago I had a donor and his attorney tell me they wanted to create an "OJ Trust", the attorney knew the group that had put togther OJ's.

This is the worst application of a great gift vehicle I have ever seen.

If I were able to go to Iowa this weekend, I might be tempted to swing through West Burlington to check out their gene pool...

Hey guys, if I had the money I would buy you all new shoes.  When I was in 6th grade a kid in my class mooned our teacher from the back row.  He was taken out into the hallway and amidst his tears I heard him proclaiming, "I'm sorry I'm sorry, but it was an Optical Illusion."...phenomenal...This Weekend SJU wins 28-10 and BU wins 21-17.  Get er' done.

Redtooth-- and Juice received a charitable deduction for it!  Brilliant!  8)

tmerton-- correct me if I'm wrong, but the judgment against OJ is in California, so applying the judgment would be under California law.  I get what you mean about full faith and credit, however, so in that sense it does bring in Florida law.

Minnesota law allows judgments to be good for 10 years.  Hmmm...when was the civil suit again?  Any coincidence to the book coming out now?

Talking about the O. J. thing on the radio last night they said he has set up a trust that is in his kids name and all his earnings go there. He has control of the trust as their parent.

They talked about a card show he was originally supposed to sign at and the event planner would not allow him to appear. So..........the guy that was supposed to have him in his booth went across the street to a hotel and rented a room and had people streaming over there for autographs at $125. per. And they said there was a huge number of people that went there.

I am not sure why everyone is so upset.  He wasn't guilty, right!?

Wow -- getting trash from a team that has never won a playoff game before.... No matter what the outcome is Saturday, the Johnnie/Dutch game is at least going to be a decent matchup. Bethel is going to get ROLLED. Have fun with that.

Yes, a decent 28-10 matchup...and MR I got this one for you....Mighty Royal wants you to know that he just Rolled in his pants....wait?  what?  what does that mean?
