Wow, that's a little surprising about Morneau. Can't wait to read the New York papers tomorrow, see hwat the Jeterites have to say.

Good news for Morneau,  couple this w/ Santana and the twinks really do have some studs!  Can't help thinking though, how similar their story rivals that of Bethel.... Great seasons ending in a little poof, kinda sad.  Can't take away the season long accomplishments though.  With that said,  GO JOHNNIES!!!

BUDEFENSE/ZDON
Give it a rest.  Take your sour grapes elsewhere.

Cheese-

First off, this isnt Zdon.

Second of all, I dont see how I have said anything over the line. I merely suggested that Scrubby's grandkid see whats out there. If he goes to Bethel, good for him, it is a good school.

All I've said this season is that the BU offense had problems turning the ball over, which they fixed as the season progressed. I've given them credit where credit is due, all the while  I've been rooting for the Royals. So I'm gonna keep my so-called sour grapes right here. Just because I dont get brainwashed by Bethel like 75% of the football team doesnt mean I dont support them. Since when was it a crime to post your opinion?

QuoteBU defense, Maybe Kirby will have a better chance than Sam since he doesn't have Blake Elliott in the field with him.

Good call

I think Kelly said something like 130 seats sold, lots more room on the plane.

Did not ask about the liquids issue.

Spokane weather is more like Montana, less like the "pacific" weather
of Seattle or Portland.

I hope the forecast Sumander posted is more accurate than the one I posted.

TC: Dusty called you out.  Better consider his post...

TDT, Dusty, etc:  There is no place I'd rather be Saturday afternoon than Spokane.  If business were any better I'd be there, but unless about a dozen people call me this afternoon demanding mortgages, I don't see that happening.

I like Justin Morneau.  A lot.  He's really, really, really good and I think he's only going to get better over the next couple years.  He was not the MVP of the American League this year.

Mauer put up similar offensive production (less HR power, yes, but got on base more often and used far fewer outs) at a much more difficult postion, which he played very well.  1B/DH/corner OF-types that are comparable to Morneau are pretty easy to find--Hafner, Ortiz, Konerko, Dye, Manny, Texiera, etc., etc., etc.  Mauer is one-of-a-kind at catcher, and his offensive numbers compare favorably to Jeter, Guillen, and Sizemore at up-the-middle positions.

Even Johan, I think, has a better argument for AL MVP than Morneau.  Gun to my head, I still might take Jeter (narrowly over Mauer or Johan) as this year's MVP.  I just know I wouldn't take Morneausy.

Congrats on the award, though.  It's strange to see a Minnesota player who wasn't head-and-shoulders above everyone else win a national award over an NY player.  I just wish it were a different Twin...

BDB: Were you planning on sharing the scouting report with MIAC PP for Whitworth?  I see your Blue Devils played them into OT earlier in the season...

That was the game raiderguy came over for.

Been awhile, but I wasn't overimpressed with them. Nice QB, monster Tight End who was missing in the passing game until the tying drive in regulation. Whitworth was held scoreless by Stout until 3 seconds remained in the game. The Rats converted a couple 4th downs in that drive as well I believe.

The one thing that really impressed me was how the squad never quit and found a way to win 1500 miles from home. Hopefully the Johnnies get up early and keep the pedal to the metal on these guys.
