John should have left it at that.  The kicking issues are in my mind a coaching issue as much as anything.

The problem is that there is no kicking coach.

Does any team in the MIAC have a kicking coach?  I know the Cobbs don't.

What, you guys didnt know? Bethel has had a kicking coach for years. I never understood why he kept telling them to miss the important ones, but we have had one.....

oh, and i for one am glad that its Florida-OSU for the title. Michigan had it's chance.

Well, I'm back.  Turned out to be a 17-hour roundtrip, plus another half hour to catch up with the board.

Thoughts:

--Do the UWW fans know any chants that don't involve swear words?  

You know, I thought I was the only sissy on this board but I also thought it was an unbelievable lack of class by the UWW student body to carry on with their vulgarity.  

In a complete act of hypocrisy the PA announcer leads the pregame with an NCAA disclaimer warning against abusive and inappropriate language. Then we listen to 4 quarters of expletives from the UWW student section. What a bunch of morons!  It's all taking place in front of the Warhawk bench.  Why doesn't the honorable Coach B. turnaround and instruct them to KNOCK IT OFF OR LEAVE!

I have no respect for the student body or the chancellor of the school for permitting this crap.  It sounded absolutely terrible from the visitors side and I'm sure ruined the experience for some of the more civilized fans both UWW and SJU.

My advice is to clean it up before you embarrass yourself again in front of the folks from Delaware.

I think I brought up the language used by the UWW fans after I went to the UWW - UW Lax game. I was gang banged quite mercilessly on the WIAC Board.

If the STrib article was written by the Bryan Watson I think it is, he writes for the Wisconsin State Journal out of Madison.  Congrats to the Johnnies on a well played game.  They did what they needed to do to be in the game and keep it within reach.

I have many thoughts about this weekend and this season.

First, thanks to Zip and Mrs. Zip for hosting my father and myself.  We had a great time and appreciate your hospitality. 

TDT - leave it to the President of CAC to show up from sunny Florida for 4 straight games.  Now that's a fan!  Even a blizzard at O'Hare couldn't keep him from witnessing his favorite team play.

I got to spend some time on Saturday talking to Janesville Flash and his son-in-law.  Both were very nice and hospitable.  I thought that I always did a good job of supplying brew for a game but I can't hold a candle to what Flash brought.  From Leinie's Red and Honey Weiss to a New Glarus brew to "Groovy Brew" Flash had all the bases covered.  Thanks again.

JR – thanks for another successful tailgate and season of tailgating.  Your burgers were great as always.

Zip – the Chicago polish sausages were once again fantastic.  The jello shots were also appreciated.

The game was very good.  The J's certainly had their chances but turnovers were the difference in the game.  Both the O and D lines of WW were superb.  Not only were they big and strong but they were quick, too.  Kleppe is a monster.  One of the best D lineman that I have seen play the game and I have seen many good ones over the years.    The J's D kept WW on their toes the entire game.  Our offense played well but came up short.  I enjoyed watching this team develop as the season progressed.  And I'm very excited about what's in store next year.  Seeing some of the J's underclassmen develop through the year was great.   We have some key people to replace but next year we are going to be stacked. 

Congrats to the seniors.  Thanks for a great season and good luck in your future endeavors!!

Having a 60 minute game decided by the smallest guy on the TEAM is as much indicitive of a team sport and effort as are penalty kicks in that other game played on some football fields.

The Gators have as much chance against OSU as Hamline did against SJU this year.

A 12-1 SEC team beats Michigan in my opinion. Aside from Wisconsin and OSU, the Wolverines played nobody of consequence. The Big 10 is really the big 3 with assorted high school teams mixed in. Way too top heavy.

top heavy, schmop heavy.  the bottom eight beat each other up.  Last place michigan state dominated BCS notre dame before giving the game away in the fourth quarter.  It's hard to judge as most of the other non-conference opponents the bottom 8 played were pretty weak.
