BDB

Hockey Fans: A dad brags.

Son of BDB took his rotation at goalie last night vs hated Eau Claire on the road.

Son of BDB pitches a shutout!

The boy will be awarded the coveted Zero Patch at the season ending awards night.  :)

+k's all around.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Johnnie Red

Mighty Royal, please come back to this board! While you may not realize it, there are some of us Johnnies who actually enjoy the interaction with Bethel grads.

I brought a Bethel grad a loaf of Johnnie bread this past weekend to his place of business here in Chaska (religious bookstore; no surprise there  ;)). His brother played football for Bethel. He admitted that he would have to cheer on the Johnnies in the future so long as they were not playing the Royals. Divine conversion can happen. :)

A goalie... Get ready to pony up big if you ever have to shell out for his equipment! Oh, and make sure that he gets plenty of practice on his social skills so that he is not left with only his goalposts to talk to. Then again, that did seem to workout well for Roy! ;)

MR - The only way you should let TDT get your goat is to have him feed it clover.  :)

Check out the new poll on the front page:

What Johnnie football player's baby would you most like to have?

Duffman is the early leader.   :-*

Blake Elliot a distant second.

Will your daughter be home this weekend? :o

Yes, I think two of them will be home.

So will my shot gun.

Did you know I am a former postal worker?  ;D

I echo Bennie's statement, MR-- for better or for worse, you are a stand-up and unwavering  Royal supporter. (sorry, bad pun  ;D)  I, for one, though I continually disagree with you, either in my head or on the board, appreciate your insight and your presence.  So while you have your prerogative, and we'll respect any decision you make, keep the rest of us in mind and hopefully you've had a positive experience overall.

[soap box]We can't run off everyone we disagree with here.  It'll become even more of a Johnnie love fest than it already is.  Can't we all just get along for the sake of the MIAC? [/soap box]

He said he didn't really like it that much, which is just fine with me.  ;)

All the players at this level have to take a turn at goalie so they can find out if they do like it.

Like most guys, my kid wants to score.  8)

Mighty Royal...for the last time

That's a bummer.  I enjoyed reading his comments.

What's "weaksauce" is you throwing a hissy fit and running away because of TDT's comments.

You should have figured out long ago that no one like him, except maybe his mommy.

I like him.

See MR?  There's a lotta love in this room.  :-*

A puck or two to the head can also change a kid's mind! ;) Did you see that Manny Legace was placed on injured reserve after being knocked out cold in practice? That would do it for me! ;D

Your soap box is the right one, esq.  Part of the fun with sledging is having someone to talk trash to.  Make it personal and you lose an important part of the equation in communicating - the other party.

Maybe it's time to give the other MIAC teams a bit of wiggle room on legitimate team pride.  If post season success (over the course of 54 years or whatnot) is the only qualification for stating post season preference, then we pretty much exclude anyone else from playing.  And we win the debate in the cheap and easy way - with an irrefutable appeal to higher authority - rather than the fun way with creative smack.

Of course, I'm no saint in the respect of keeping things non-personal (especially with that Whitworth guy 509, or whatever).  I do believe that amongst our own,  amongst the MIAC, we should show a certain level of respect.  A level that is not achieved by full fee-paying membership in the CAC, president or member-at-large.

Almost as good news as the old Friday Anna sightings.  :D  Good for the boy and +k to the dad.
