If you have heartburn Duff, just have some more spicy summer sausage...that should clear it up ;)

I've discovered that I can get heartburn from damn near anything :-[.

Ahhh, back at work after much holiday schweeling.  I hope everyone had a great holiday.

My Christmas festivities had a small touch of MIAC PP.  My family was playing the game "Catch Phrase" and when it came to my turn, I got none other than Anna Kournikova ;D

I gave the clue:  "A female tennis player who is not very good, but she's hot."

Hilarious Duff! +k  :D

I had one sort of. After another hockey win by my son's squad, they remain undefeated.

On the trip home, the kid says "Dad, how come we are laying the Monkey Stomp on everybody?   ;D

Duffman, sounds like you are getting properly warmed up for the BockFest on February 17 in New Ulm. ;) Still trying to decide whether to head to New Ulm or Walker for the EelPout Festival that weekend.

Swearing in ceremony tomorrow here in Chaska. Somewhat unique in that we are having a Minnesota Court of Appeals judge administer the oath (Dave Minge). He is an Ole. Suppose I should be happy he didn't graduate from Bethel. :P

Minn in the news again ...

  • UnitedHealth Group, Minnetonka, Minn., said the Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a formal investigation into its historical stock-option granting practices. UnitedHealth said in an SEC filing that it intends to cooperate with federal investigators.

  • McClatchy agreed to sell the Star Tribune newspaper of Minneapolis to Avista Capital Partners for $530 million, as it moves to reduce debt from the Knight Ridder purchase.

  • Fins is moving the big house onto the ice tomorrow and is on the trail of the closet smiter.

As Dusty would say, "Developing ... "

I'm surprised this isn't the lead story. :o

Trivia:

How many cases of Grainbelt Premium were consumed by Duffman and entourage over Christmas?

None.  They were all Hamms?

I'm offended that you'd suggest Hamm's over GBP.

Now that explains the heartburn.  :D

Ole ya say?

A friend of mine in Victoria whose son currently attends Holy Family did their rounds of the MIAC schools this past fall in an attempt to choose an institution for the upcoming '07 school year.

Upon their visit to St. Olaf the weather was dark, dreary, rainy and at the very least unpleasant.  My buddies son is a musician so they were checking out the obligatory performance halls and practice rooms when his father asks, "where's the football game?".  The Ole student chaperone responded, "oh, it's way down there, it would take a while to make the walk and you really don't want to go down there".

The next weekend they visit Collegeville on an absolutely glorious fall day, sun shining and red everywhere as the Johnnies were matched up against the Falcons of River Falls.  In addition to a complete tour of the SJU campus this potential incoming frosh was invited down on the track for a front row seat to listen to the Mens choir sing the national anthem and watch the game.  He was accepted last week.  Case closed.   8)

AND sing the Johnnie fight song!

I've been listening to two of the SJU/CSB choir CDs this week as I drive around over the holidays.  Very impressive, and great music for the season.

Dusty,

Have you been recruiting hard down in Farmington? Will there be brothers on the "O" line & "D" line for the 2008 campaign?

Folks let me tell you Dusty's catch phrase is "I live to carry the message" that's not just idle chatter, the man is a recruiting machine, be it football or men's chorus or electronic media to spread the good word of SJU to the masses!

Went to every Ole home game this year, there wasn't a single game that was dreary and rainy. There probably wasn't a home game that day - or you've got the facts wrong.  ::)

Looks like everybody's got about as much to say as Fred Smoot these days. :-X

Little quiet in here, I think it's time for a fishing report.

Just got back from 2 days (afternoon Tuesday to late morning Thursday) at the family cabin in Aitkin, 6 guys (me, the brother, two uncles, two cousins).  Over 100 crappies the first night/first morning, about 50 pike (and a bonus bass) on the tip-ups during the day on Wednesday, and 10 walleyes Wednesday night/Thursday morning.  One of the pike was pushing 12 pounds and one of the walleyes was a very beefy 32 inches--easily 10 lbs.  My brother had another 30+ inch walleye up to the hole before it spit the pimple back at him.

If I can figure out this damn camera phone I'll try to get a couple of pictures up.
