Little quiet in here, I think it's time for a fishing report.

Just got back from 2 days (afternoon Tuesday to late morning Thursday) at the family cabin in Aitkin, 6 guys (me, the brother, two uncles, two cousins).  Over 100 crappies the first night/first morning, about 50 pike (and a bonus bass) on the tip-ups during the day on Wednesday, and 10 walleyes Wednesday night/Thursday morning.  One of the pike was pushing 12 pounds and one of the walleyes was a very beefy 32 inches--easily 10 lbs.  My brother had another 30+ inch walleye up to the hole before it spit the pimple back at him.

If I can figure out this damn camera phone I'll try to get a couple of pictures up.

TC:
We all want to know if you caught your limit of bottle bass ;D

Sounds good, TC!

I snuck out of work early today to spend a few hours on the Horseshoe Chain in search of channel catfish (and to try out the new GPS!!!).  I ended up with 4 small walleyes, 4 catfish (24", 26", and 2 smaller ones), a crappie, and a rock bass.  All in all, a fun evening.

The real fun will begin in a few weeks on URL.

A tradition unrivaled...

Sorry I neglected to wish all on the MIAC board Happy Holidays before now.  Got a little busy with all the traveling and preparations.  A special shout out to Duff, KR, BDB, Kubiack78 and Janesvilleflash.  Here's looking forwarded to a 2007 filled with Anna, Hamm's, fishing tales and eventually............. a little football!  Have a happy and safe New Year!  :-*

How many of the MIAC fans will be watching the Insight Bowl? http://www.gophersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=8400&ATCLID=735040?

If Applebee's or the two sports bars in town has the game, I'll stop over and watch.

Not being one who likes to have a question unanswered - for BDB et. al., My definition for a Hockey Monkey Stomp would correspond to the three TD margin in football. A three goal win then would be my definition, since there are no extra points in hockey.

PI: you should go to watch the game at the Silver Lake Muni- all the Wille Van De Steeg fan club should be ther in force ;D

I certainly hope (you know what my Pops says about hope in one hand and crap in the other) that the Gophers get their act together in Football & Basketball to can keep more of the Minnesota blue chippers at home instead of becoming All Big-10 or All-Americans someplace else.

I concur on your Hockey Monkey Stomp criteria retagent.

Son of BDB's squad has been executing the double and triple Monkey Stomp this season.  ;)

BDB:  Happy new year to you!

My son Will of Samwill fame played a mite scrimmage at the mecca of college hockey...Marriucci Arena last Saturday.  I will try to post a picture, but who knows if it will work.

The teams did the Marriucci Salute at Center Ice at the end of the game!  They had a blast!

Wow, I guess everybody is good at SOMETHING. For Glen Mason, it's coaching a whole half and an OT with his hands around his neck.

This is why Glenn Mason needs to join Dan Monson as a FORMER Gopher's head coach. Well at least it was a close game :-[

The Big Ten teams ought to have the good sense to avoid embarassing themselves in front of national TV audiences and, when having a record of 6-6, forego going to 3rd rate bowl games at which they risk losing to mediocre opponents.

Great point Frank.

Here Mason states the obvious:"Couldn't stop them," Minnesota coach Glen Mason said. -From the Associated Press Newswire-
I'm sure with a game plan like that he'll get a six year extention to his contract. ???

So last night I check the ESPN.com scoreboard and see that the Goophers were up 38-7 in the 3rd quarter.  Then this morning, while reading the newspaper, I see they end up losing.

Seriously, how many games has Mason (& the team) blown over the past few years?  You can probably add up the blown games by all other coaches and it probably won't add up to Mason's.  However, as a Badger fan, I wouldn't mind seeing Mason on the Minnesota sidelines for years to come  ;D
