Yeah, Yak, that's what you get for being a Tommie.

A tradition unrivaled...

Knights,

I understand what you mean, it just struck me as odd that you'd wish a team well and no injuries and express remorse at a missed attempt to drill a QB last year.

I know all to well from my high school days what it feels like to be on the wrong end of a blowout and how much more of a kick in the nuts it is when the opposing team is pulling trick plays late in the game. I can understand your being upset at the call, but it was also the last game of the year for the team and the final score was 21-0, so it was not a blowout by any means.
Enough said on the subject, let the dead horse be dead.

From my perspective, I see SJU pulling their starters as early as possible so that potential playoff opponents have less to work with and to keep starters healthy especially with no bye's. This can be a bit hard to do on the road with a limited stash of players to send in.

Alternatively, SJU may do what they did in 2003 against Crown and run a million new plays out of 400 different formations and try to give opposing defensive coaches migraines.

I would bet on the former.

MyYak,
Is that Boy George's Irish cousin?

KR,

You understand my dilema.

Why couldn't I get a tough name like "Rock", "Buster" or "Max"?

Tough guy football requires a tough guy name like mine: Big Boy Honduras. It sounds like I'm a One Armed Scot knock off or something ???
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

57-looks like I may be in my reserved seat on Saturday.. developing.
BTW, what is everyone's most memorable SJU v. U(C)ST game? I remember the '85 game, the CST QB runs out of bounds, late in the fourth quarter, to stop the clock, with SJU having no timeouts, and SJU getting the ball back and kicking the winning field goal shortly thereafter.

AFCA top 5:
1. Linfield (40) 7-0 1,000 1
2. St. John's 9-0 950 3
3. UW-Whitewater 9-0 918 4
4. Mary Hardin-Baylor 7-1 793 7
5. Occidental 8-0 790 5
Three of the top 5 in the West Region, but will they all stay in the West for the playoffs?

Kilted Rat

Correction:

4/5 in the west... Oxy is in the SCIAC which is in the West.

KR-thanks mis-wrote that, of course 4 out of 5.

Yours truly (in zubaz) in action during the annual Malpractice bowl shown sacking a lawyer... hopefully someday one doesn't return the favor :-\

KR,

Are those Green Bay Packers zubaz?  If so, what does Mrs. KR think of them... :o
Chasing MILFs since '82...

Kilted Rat

In deed they are. Given to me by my grandmother last Christmas!
I had no idea you could still buy them!

Mrs. KR has sworn off the Viqueens ever since the Love Boat fiasco and has selected the Denver Broncos as her new favorite team, but wishes the Quarterback "What'shisname" (Jake Plummer to the males out there) shave his beard.

I have to admit the SJU/CST rivalry was more fun years ago when Tommies gave a rip. They used to have a lot in common with us, now I see CST becoming a lot like Macalaster. Maybe it has something to do with the water that trickles down Summit Avenue.

Finsleft-I am assuming you mean from an apathy and not academic perspective  ;)

I agree with most posters on site-he CST game simply isn't going to be a big game for SJU.  This is why I brought up the rivalry stuff earlier on-as a player, CCM was a bigger game than CST

57Johnnie

Hard for an old Tommie to get excited when you are 5 - 15 for the last 20 years and lost the last 7 in a row.
This Johnnie is old enough to love it.
