You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Pep, the Stiftungsfest burgers are a culinary delight and are made from a secret recipe by Mackenthun & Wischnack Meats in Norwood Young America. This is the type of meat market where you will see sides of beef hanging outside the store over the sidewalk. I will make sure to have a few pounds for you to take back home when you come to Collegeville September 1. The burgers are always sold at the Stiftungsfest celebration. Two years ago they sold over 10,000 burgers at the weekend event.

As to the German ancestral heritage, you are correct sir! We have the following towns in Carver County: Hamburg, Cologne and New Germany. I must admit that my great grandparents on my father's side were from Ireland and settled in Green Isle, Minnesota, which is Sibley County, just southwest of Carver County. That has been a perfect combination: 1/4 Irish, 3/4 German. I know how to work my ass off and have fun at the same time. ;)

Superman57, are you a Post Patterns stalker? Following me over to the West Region, eh? Have you read "The Sweet Season"?

Superman57, I consider myself a "student" of D3 football. I grew up on D3 football. Given the choice of an Alfred game and the Bills....well, that's not even a fair comparison. I saw first hand what football can do for an institution, and, while I am quick to cite Alfred's good old days with the "legendary" Coach Alex Yunevich, I am also ever learning from other successful programs. After reading "The Sweet Season" and meeting some of the classiest folks in D3 on the Minnesota boards, I feel compelled to experience a St. John's home football game.

St. John's leads the nation in home football game attendance and I think we all can learn something from the folks in Collegeville.

As for me, I'm 1/2 German and a little bit everything else (English-Irish-Mutt). Found guilty of loving my hometown, I was sentenced to life in Alfred, NY, well known for the past 30+ years as the home of "Hot Dog Day," which started c. 1974 by a couple of students who thought that the students should give something back to the community. Proceeds from the festival, held in April, go to local charities. It starts with a Friday Evening Ice Cream Social, then on Saturday Main Street is blocked off for a street carnival following a noon parade. At the first HDD, you could get a hot dog and a Coke for a quarter--and they ran out of hot dogs, having served I believe 2,000. AU Pep Band, now in its seventh year, actually marches in the parade, playing a song arranged by some of our alums, "I Wish I Were An Oscar Mayer Wiener." It's all fun.

So I'm walking down to court this morning and I see a young couple in front of me in the hallway. The gal has a jacket on with the following logo on the back: SexWorld. Mmmmmm, now what do you think they sell there? TDT, your input would surely be appreciated.

You're positive it wasn't "SeaWorld"?    :-\

In the event anyone here is interested....

Update on Alfred's Julio Fuentes, who suffered a critical neck injury in the Saxons' opener Sept. 9, 2006:

Word is that he's still in rehab at Shepherd's Center in Atlanta, GA but is now out of the hospital and in an "apartment" setting there at the clinic. At present, he is on track in his rehab and is projected to complete his stay at Shepherd on March 9. Coach Murray spoke with Julio's mother on Saturday, who reported he "wasn't there" (in his apartment) as he was "visiting some girls upstairs."  ;)

Here's a clip about Shepherd Center:

For all you would be actors and fans of Star Trek and X-Men ... appreciate the dedication and discipline involved in the creative writing process.  (Maybe he could do a reprise of this on Earl ... )

What happened to BDB?  He put up those five pics of that other Anna last Friday and then disappeared.  Hockey tournament?  Or did he take a closer look at those pics of ANS :P and decide to do sepuku (not to be confused with sudoku)?

Hung Chow calls into work and says, "Hey, I no come work today, I sick, headache, stomach ache, legs hurt, I no come work."

The boss says, "You know something, Hung Chow, I really need you today.  When I feel like this, I go to my wife and tell her to give me sex.   That makes everything better and I go to work. You should try that."

Two hours later Hung Chow calls again. "I do what you say, I feel great. I be work soon.....you got nice house."

The only thing I know like that is picachu, a pokemon.

Now, for older dad's this is the current version of the Barney the Dinosaur or Mutant Ninja Turtles.

For current dad's like me of young children, you know how much one of these SOB's hurt when you step on one with bare feet.  :P  :D
