Thanks TDT & Fins for the scouting report.

I've been living the High Life ($11.50 for a hamburger? You must be crazy!) this week since the games have been on channel 29. But I see tonight it's on FSN which means MY FSN will more than likely have the Brewers.  :-\

That plus I can't pick up 1500AM at night to save my soul puts me in a Kilted Rat type of situation relying on the home computer.

Except for that unit is in my truck and getting left at the PC Doctor this afternoon. So, I am basically screwed.

I have temporarily lost my High Life priviledges.  :P

BDB

Speaking of the Kilted One, I hope he has his TiVo running this afternoon.

As I dined at home on leftovers for lunch I was monitoring the ESPN's of the world.

What comes on the Duece, but none other than the WNBA draft!

Live and in color, and nobody watching at noon on a Wednesday.

KR, I know you are a big fan. Hope you got it recorded.  ;)

I feel your pain, BDB.

Let's just hope Ortiz can toss the pill better than the Mayor of Cincinnati

In the see ya later column:

JD Durbin came in to pitch the 8th inning for Arizona against Colorado today. He gave up 7 earned runs on 7 hits in 2/3 innings. Current ERA is 94.50.

Well, I wasn't going to bring it up...but since PI has brought it to our attention...

TDT told Dinny that losing The Real Deal was as bad as losing Big Papi a few hours after the Twins put him on waivers. Chalk that up as another reason never to trust this hated Johnnie alums "insider" info.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

From this morning's St. Cloud Times:

A pair of AP All-State second-team picks lead a group of 11 players who confirmed their intentions to play football for the Johnnies next fall.

Bryan Virnig, a 6-foot-2, 188-pound running back/safety from Pierz, and Jeff Gilbertson, a 6-4, 265-pound offensive guard/nose tackle from Winona Cotter, said they plan to play at St. John's.

Also planning to join the incoming freshmen are Central Minnesota players Seth Gieske, a 5-10, 175-pound running back from Melrose, Aaron Haakonson, a 6-4, 180-pound defensive end from Sauk Rapids, Phil Orzechowski, a 6-0, 210-pound offensive lineman/linebacker from St. Cloud Cathedral, Derek Ludwig, a 6-4, 170-pound wide receiver from Alexandria, and Jordan Hendricks, a 6-1, 185-pound quarterback from Minnewaska.

From outside of the immediate area, St. John's has also received commitments from Andrew Rotschafer, a 6-1, 185-pound defensive back from Eden Prairie, Griffin Hayes, a 6-3, 248-pound defensive linemen from St. Thomas Academy, Alex Bendickson, a 5-8, 210-pound fullback/linebacker from Braham, and Andrew Hengel, a 6-1, 175-pound quarterback from Bemidji.

In addition to these, I know of Mike Rausch, a 6-2, 190-pound safety/wide receiver from White Bear Lake.

BDB: Once again you come to the right place.  I've proven I am a great college sports mind (ref: predictions/results of florida/ohio state contests).  Now you ask for info on Ramon.  I will kindly oblige.

I was impressed by him this spring.  Lots of fire in his belly.  Loves to compete and boundless energy.  Potential to dominate each outing (ref: 2002 versus Anaheim in the ALCS) but has a tendency to get hit around hard for one big inning.  If he keeps his composure and gives us 6 innings of 2-3 run ball you have reason to be ecstatic.

Ho hum, ho hum...This weekend should be interesting on the Southside with Silva, Ponson, and Cy Young...I hope we can outscore them as I am afraid that is the only way to win on Fri/Sat.  I'd be thrilled with 2 of 3.

Well, I put up with 1500AM as long as I could until the reception was so bad I was getting a headache.

Not only did my FSN not have the Twins, it wasn't even the Brewers.

They carried the Milwaukee frickin' Bucks! Now that is brutal.  :P

Glad to see the pirahna's getting it done. And Ortiz could be huge.

OK, so the pirahnas get it done behind Johan and Boof.

Tonight we enter the unknown zone.

Anybody have a take on Ortiz?  ???

Ortiz looked quite good last night going 7 innings and giving up 2 ER.  Now we will see how the 4 and 5 pitchers for the Twins will do.  I still would like to see Silva not pitch...ever!  But I am sure he will do horrible enough for Garza to come back up to the bigs and take his place.

Yeah - hope KR didn't miss it.  I see from this morning's newspaper that the Lynx picked a player from my son's high school -- looks like the Bay Area is coming to MN! 8) She's 6'3" and played at Duke and Stanford - so at least she's smart. ;)

TT,

From the list of prospects, I would say that Virnig is your best bet, though I doubt Blake's ability will ever be matched.

Thanks for keeping us updated JP.  BTW: You are doing a terrific job at SJU.  Your efforts do not go unnoticed.  Thanks much.
