Frank has posted in his blog that the Gophers and SJU are in discussions about the Gophers holding some practices at SJU this summer.

Edit: Story on it is now up:

If the J's open Camp on the 12th of August anyone have any idea how early Dl schools can start? The U would have to start awfully early for this to work out.

Found this in a recent Bemidji Pioneer newspaper article:

Hengel to St. John's

Another Bemidji High Scholl athlete has announced his college plans.

Andrew Hengel will join the St. John's football and baseball squads next season, playing football for the legendary Johnnie Coach John Gagliardi.

He was a three sport star at Bemidji, captaining all three teams.  He quarterbacked the grid team and pitches and plays shortstop in baseball.  He also has started for the basketball team the past two years.

Hengel will leave Bemidji holding school records in career passing yards and single season and career touchdowns.  He led this year's basketball team with a 12 points per game average.  In baseball, he currently holds a .440 hitting average with 10 RBIs and maintains a 0.00 ERA on the mound.  He is also is a finalist for Bemidji Athlete of the Year, which will be announced May 21st.

He joins his favorite grid target, split end Justin Hunt, in the college ranks. Hunt will play for BSU next season.

Others who have signed include wrestlers Kaleb Young (Minnesota) and Joe Andersen (St. Cloud), soccer forward Liz Judkins (Southwest) and girl's hockey forward Courtney Josefson (St. Cloud).

Are they gonna bring their own equipment (tackling dummies, blocking sleds, etc) because SJU doesn't have any of that stuff.

Maybe Brewster is going to become a Gagliardi disciple and start holding practice like SJU.  ;)

Congrats JR! I will be definitely make the trip to the KOC Hall that evening if I'm available. I will also have a couple 13 or 14 in your honor each of the next three nights.

Now, can you do something about speeding up the construction around 212 and 41? Thank you.

raiderguy

Congratulations JJR.

I have not had the chance to post since I heard the news. It's great to have someone on the "inside" when you live in the same county!
Parking tickets, speeding tickets, ha! no problem.

Oh officer, let's just give my friend JJR a call and I am sure we can just forget the whole thing.

By the way does this affect your current case about the poor kid who died of exposure after trying to walk home from a birthday party earlier this winter?

Now at all the Stiftingfest parties we will be able to chant.......
"Here come da Judge....Here come da Judge..... A little Rowan & Martin memory.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Hey JR, I heard on the radio that Paris Hilton is going before the judge today for her parole violation.

Too bad for her the judge won't be you.  ;)  :D

Raiderguy, +k for the Rowan & Martin memory.

I got another Rowan & Martin memory--remember the "boxing match" between Wilt Chamberlain and Sammy Davis, Jr.?  Wilt's 7'1 and Sammy's 5'4-- 'no hitting below the belt'-- :D :D (If I recall correctly, Sammy was credited with the win.)

Those of you with a better knowledge of the St. Paul area than I have can probably identify the likely culprits ...  Bethel students? ;D

QuoteThe biggest known theft of credit-card numbers in history began two summers ago outside a Marshalls discount clothing store near St. Paul, Minn.

There, investigators now believe, hackers pointed a telescope-shaped antenna toward the store and used a laptop computer to decode data streaming through the air between hand-held price-checking devices, cash registers and the store's computers. That helped them hack into the central database of Marshalls' parent, TJX Cos. in Framingham, Mass., to repeatedly purloin information about customers.
