Debunking KR's logic.

10 reasons why Ritz will be unseated on Saturday

10. I went to SJU during the Laker area where until you were 21 you drank as much as possible as fast as possible to avoid getting your beer taken away before you got drunk.
I did, too.
9. Belt of Fat theory  ...this is the reason the little asian dude outeats the fat guys in the hot dog contest.  Okay, you may have me here, but I'm not that fat.
8. I was born in Wisconsin just up the road from Milwaukee where Beer Brats and the Packers are all that matter in life... now we just have beer and brats.  I lived just outside of Milwaukee for 3 years.
7. I too will be drinking Hamm's.  Duh.
6. I will be doing several warm-ups and practice run throughs tonight.  Me, too.
5. I did wear a kilt... any clue how many beers you have to drink in a short period of time on a Saturday morning to go outside in a kilt with nothing underneath in Minnesota in December?  You got me there.
4. I once outdrank 13 Germans in a bar in Germany (a good place to find drinking germans) in a Liter race... then puked in the bushes outside and came back in and defended my title... beautiful feeling to have an entire German bar chanting USA USA  I once slammed an entire pitcher and held it down, big deal  And the Germans?  They love David Hasselhoff.
3. I am drinking in memory of TDT's presence on this board.  No one liked/likes TDT, so don't use this.
2. I am the most recent SJU graduate in the competition... Ritz and duffman have been out of the game far too long.  I'm barely older than you.
1. TOMMIES SUCK  Tommies do suck, but they are not involved.  If any Tommie wants to participate, they will place dead last.

So, you may have 1 or 2 legit reasons.  My thought is that you'll pull an Ole to my SJU.

All this talk has gotten me wondering.  Does anyone know the origin of the term "shotgun"?  Nothing about it resembles anything related to an actual shotgun, aside from the hole in the can, so I just wnated some input.

Also, rumor has it Wooderson will be participating in the competion.

There will be a Hang your Balls competition, as well.

Azusa Pacific played Valley City State after the Cobber game and some Azusa fans convinced me to stay for the first half. They are fun to watch. Gustavus played Valley City earlier this year and only lost 10-3, after the Cobb game those teams looked much more physical and faster than the Cobbs so I was surprised Gac kept it that close earlier. Just some thoughts.

Wahoo-  We also played Azusa my senior year at their place and they played here the year after.  My senior year they beat us 20-14 and we had the ball on the 3yard line at the end of the game, but Willy "tripped" on a fade route and cost us the game.  The year after they beat Mongo and the gang 23-10 in a close battle.  They were a good team, but not outstanding.  I guess my point, from my viewing of d3, and limited viewing of NAIA, there's not much difference between the leagues.

105 and ROR and OAS,

Are you in the contest this weekend at O'Shaughnessy?

Mr. Bus,

Yes, I intend to participate as a training event for next weekend when 56321 and I will face off in the Seniors division.

I think we need to provide some kind of equalizing factor, like a handicap in golf.  I propose we take the number of seconds it takes to shotgun and divide that by age.  Low number wins.

BD, are you in?  Oh wait, you're not coming, and even if you were, you'd sit it out to "take pictures."

Clip of the Tommie Johnnie finish.

Schmidt's kick bounces four times on the cross bar before falling in front of the goal post.  Tommies win by three.

ROR,
For the Seniors event don't you think that IQ, Karma, # of posts and waist size should go into the equation? All calculations made immediately AFTER the contest.

OAS, you obviously haven't seen Schmidt kick a field goal.  It wouldn't get there!

ROR, no offense to Schmidt.  He's just gotta get those nerves under control.

ROR,

Didn't Duffman declare yesterday that there are no separate divisions.  You old guys should be more seasoned anyway, so no handicap for you.  I will hold your camera while you participate. ;D

Yea it is quite obvious OAS has NO idea what he is talking about.

I've been wondering this myself. In addition, I've always seen a different shotgun technique that involves drinking through the drinking hole after piercing an air hole in the bottom of the can. This drinking through the side thing is something I've never seen before. Were I any good at shotgunning beers, I'd try this alternative technique in the contest. Unfortunately, coupling my ineptitude with the fact that my folks are going to be visiting from NoDak, and I'm going to have to refrain from joining in.

Frank,
I actually remembered watching film of one of those games, since we played you a week after you played Azusa. I brought it up to the Azusa fans and for some reason they didn't remember playing the Gusties. I thought that was wierd.
I never thought there was much difference between NAIA and D3 either (other than they get a few scholarships) but I just couldn't believe how better those 2 teams looked than Concordia did. I know it was because they didn't play their starters for long and Morris is horrible, but it was a drastic difference.

I think it has something to do with the term "cannon ball" and just worked from there ???  Duff, I really have NO IDEA, but maybe Ritz knows, because he is the Champ! ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I sorta like this "Mr." title you are throwing around.  But perhaps you could call me "Master" instead of Mr.

You mean to tell me they would not be proud to tell all their friends that their son won the SJU Hamm's Shotgunning Championship?
