When Santana pitches, he should bat, Punto plays 3rd and the DH hits for him. How 'bout that?

Brilliant.   ;D  +k for that.

I expect I'll see that suggestion in Shooter's column tomorrow.  Hopefully he will give proper attribution.

Solid concept fins.

With Santana going tonight it's obviously a must win.

Then it's the Baker/Bonderman rematch and if the Twins get that they'll be 6-1 coming out of the break.

That should be enough for Ryan to make a move.

Now we have to curse the Indians from having that horse shoe up their a$$.  :P

I am giddy as a schoolgirl.

Back in 1991 when the Twins were going to the World Series, Mrs. BDB and I ran over to Best Buy and bought a piece of furniture with a TV in it. It was a nice gig at the time.

Well, last Friday that bad boy gave up the ghost, so family of BDB ran over to Best Buy and bought a 42" high definition plasma LCD TV.

And from 5-7 tonight the cable guy is coming to install the hi-def cable box.

And at 7pm the Twins are playing the Det Tigs on ESPN in HD!  :)

Dammit, every dog has their day.  ;D

Should have gotten a 50" display! ;D

I'm telling ya, they should try this tonight!

Fins, your years of coaching Little League are paying off showing your in-depth knowledge of the game.  ;)

My Little League coaching season has ended posting a solid 5-5 record.  :P   :D

I don't think Sammy Sosa was any sure thing coming into the season. I wanted the Twins to sign him but only because a minor league contract is low, low risk.

BDB's new home theatre:

What could have been:

OK,OK funny stuff.

If I had it in a room that big then the larger the screen the better.  :o

The 42" beauty is just right in this situation.

Good point Sum. It is unfortunate how the whole program's reputation is sullied by the actions of a few. Especially when the apparent ringleader was already off the team, out of school, but still living on campus. WTF?

You would be suprised at some school's Housing Office rules. At some schools, the Housing Office is run somewhat seperately from the rest of the school. They have to be self sustaining because they generate revenue and do not get funds from the general budget. I think that this sometimes leads to somewhat flexible rules regarding when a student or former student can still be living there. As long as he is paying his rent... 8)

Sorry, when Barry Melrose (one of the chief celebrators of the throw-down) comes on, I change channels.

The mullet alone is enough reason to change the channel! ;D

I am not a big fan of fighting, but I do understand why it happens (insert plug for a great book "The Code"). Teaching hockey players to fight is not new, but having a camp specifically for it probably is. I do have to wonder what parents are thinking when they sign their kids up for it! I have a friend that is into boxing/martial arts and he was telling me about one of his former instructors that use to be brought in to training camp for an AHL team every year to work on fighting skills with the players. Of course there is a big difference between teaching 21+ year old professionals and 13 year old kids! :-\

The first house I ever bought, back in the Cloud, had a fireplace that backed into the garage like that.

Sosa would've never played here....this was brought up at the time and he wanted to play for only a few certain teams. Minnesota was not one of them. Sorry.
