Happy 25th KR and good luck with the books!

I will be leaving shortly as well, going off to the nether-reaches of Becker County, Sumanderland, to do a little research of my own. I will be studying the effects of large quantities of Hamm's, dust and loud music on the sleep-deprived body.  :o

Happy Jerry Garcias birthday to all MIAC PP'ers.

KR, happy belated 25th birthday and the best of luck studying for your boards. I am sure you will do well.

Fins, have a great time at We Fest. Wish I could be there for the event. Sounds like a wonderful time for all.

Everyone keep the weekend of August 24-26 on your calendars. Stiftungsfest celebration in Norwood Young America. Hairball will be playing one of the evenings.

KR-Happy Birthday! ;D Study hard, all your future patients will appreciate it! ;)

frank - Good find, but I don't think you should be so easily distracted. You need to stay focused and get the Gophers that elusive national championship before Madden comes out in 12 days...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Here you go, tmerton.  Nothing huge, but lots of fun ;D

Those look like nice sized large mouths to me Duff.

Probably took your Zebco 202 to the limit.  ;D

So your Zebco 202 ($5.95) held up under the action but .....

not the St. Croix Avid? ($130.00 and up)  ???   ;)

DuffMan

Oh, come now, Bob ::)

The Shimano Curado held up fine

The St. Croix Avid, though, snapped like a twig

Luckily, the rod was a few years old and carries a lifetime warranty, so Duff should be getting a brand-spanking new one in a couple weeks ;D

Lifetime warranty. I guess you get what you pay for.

So, did you land said fighting fish despite the rod breaking in two?

Doubtful, if it was one like the bass in the pics. A little slack and they would spit it out.

No.  I was fishing a Rebel Pop-R .
The fish bit, I set the hook, and the rod snapped in half.  I actually hooked the fish, but I was so dumb-founded by the rod breaking that he got off.  And it was not a big fish.

Crazy. I have to admit that the image of you in the boat looking at your broken-in-two rod right when it happened is pretty funny.  ;D

Time for the back-up gear.  8)

Don't worry, I had 4 other rods in the boat with me ;)

Duff,

Ususally the one that got away was the size of the boat,  you didn't embellish it at all what an honest fisherman.
