Man, I can't wait for the season, especially with the Twinks going soft.

My favourite part of the game time is waking up at 5:30 on Sunday morning to listen to the broadcast over the Internets.  Dad walking around the mansion with the laptop and earphones is a not uncommon event in the Oz household.  Almost makes me want to buy the iTunes plug-in for the stereo so I can listen to the Johnnies over the wireless.

Actually, the innovation I would really like is a podcast of the game so I could listen to the pre-and post game comments in the car with the iPod.  (And catch those bits I miss because of "Daddy, can you make pancakes?" or "I have a list of jobs... isn't that game over yet?")

Anyways, thanks for the comments, Duff.  I'm looking forward discovering to the rising star.

Here I sit bored stiff in a Kuala Lumpur airport lounge waiting to fly home for the weekend.  Monday and Tuesday next week back here and then I'm done.

I know none of you really care (and many of you probably wish you could have the 10 seconds back you just wasted reading this post... 20 seconds if you graduated from St Thomas) but I really miss the family.

Can I just say that Malaysia is soccer nuts?  Actually all of Asia is.  Multiple channels.  24 hours.  Even friggin' ESPN is about 20 hours of English Premier League coverage a day.  The only thing that I find entertaining about the non-stop, wall-to-wall soccer coverage is that I have found that the Tottenham Hotspurs are picked to be a top 6 finisher in the EPL.  "Hotspurs".... My second favorite team name after the Crimson Tide.

Hotspurs, something is just so wrong with that, but so right.

Hmm, in Sid's column..

This is Gagliardi's 59th year coaching. He will be 81 in November, but he said he doesn't have any thought of retiring. However, some close friends believe this might be his last season because he lost two sisters in the past year and because the game is changing so much.

Senile Sid strikes again.

Hey, how hard can it be for Sid to say someone that is 81 might retire? That's like having a death pool and saying Bob Hope was you pick to die during the year when he was 99-gonna happen sometime and you look like the genius.

      Lake Mary Rams Football

2004  4-6  1-3 in Conference
2005  3-6  1-3 in Conference
2006  0-2, then they stopped reporting results.

I have a feeling these guys'll fit in just fine at St. Olaf.

According to Maxpreps.com, they actually improved in 2006: 5-5, 2-2 in conference.  A winning season is just around the corner.  ::)

PIROLLO9

LIKE I SAID......Those boys where JUNIORS in 2003............LETS TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT MATTERS NOT WHEN THEY LEFT HIGH SCHOOL BUT WHEN THEY WERE THERE..................

FACTS.....(please refer to the ABOVE POST)

2003(junior seasons for those guys)...2003----- 9-1 (Conference Champs) Number 3 in the state at one point......(ESPECIALLY FLA 5A BALL) .........................10-2 (FINAL RECORD)................Who was there in 2006???? Not those guys..................But they were there in 2003...........

CANT PEOPLE STOP HATEING AND GET TO THE REAL FACTS...... ???

Hey P9-
Please don't mistake HUMOR for HATRED. You'll drive yourself nuts on this board, and then you end up driving the rest of us nuts, and then...well look what happened to UWPSuperdork.

AND YOU DON"T HAVE TO YELL...we can hear you.

DuffMan

I'm pretty sure how their team did in high school doesn't mean squat.  My senior year in high school, we were 9-2 and rated #1 in state for a time.  I turned out to be a decent ball player at SJU and we did pretty well while I was there, but there were plenty of guys on my high school team that were pretty lackluster.

Just because they were on a decent team doesn't make them good ball players.  And even if they're good ball players, 2 guys doesn't make a good team :P

Thats all good....I understand......My point was and still is- Dont Disrespect our high school and Where we come from!!!! Other than that....Good point DuffMan....your point is true....BUT..........#3 Offense in the nation last year........9 out of 11 starters returning!!! ENOUGH SAID!!!

PS- We are Talking 5A.....Florida High School Football.....As I recall.........Top High School Football States......California.....Texas.....Florida!!!!  10-2.....number 3 in the state......Look at the players on that team......All studs in college football today!!!!

DuffMan

I have no disrespect for your high school.  St. Olaf, on the other hand... ::)

Offense, offense, offense.  I have yet to see an Ole team with a solid defense.  And you know the saying...

Likely would have  been #1 offense in the nation had they been able to get St. John's off their schedule.   8)

This year will  be deja vu all over again.  (And I'm not refering to the 2004 game.   :'()
