Anyone have a chance to take in a Johnnie practice or have an inside scoop with the coaches?  Just wondering how the WR, QB and RB competitions are shacking out.

Probably a bit early.  They've only had a couple practices and things don't really start shaking out till the end of the first week, I would say.

Thanks for the scoop.  I was looking for some input too.  I'm flying up from Ohio and if Fins can promise an intro to the female featured in his avatar... solo is the only way to fly.

It might catch up with you one day when the division one and two deserters stop coming to collegeville ...

Aren't you an NDSU deserter???    :o

Ha no, I am not James Bechdol.

I have finally come in from the golf course(s) to read what I have missed. I was pushed to do so when this morning, when doing my crossword, a clue appeared - "Liberal Arts college in Northfield, MN." The answer, of course, was St Olaf. I hope this isn't an omen. Har de har har ;D

Any of you guys want to help kcreds out? He's a pretty good guy, out of Ohio, looking for some advice. Pull out the Minnesota Nice, will ya? :)

Come on, Pat - notwithstanding the screed posted by an Ole a few days ago the Johnnies on this board are very welcoming to newcomers and visitors.

That's cool and all but this is the second time he's posted looking for help, so I figured I should call some attention to it.
Hey Pat- Lighten up, will ya? Kcred's first post on this board was just over an hour ago. All his other posts going to last April were on the Ohio board. Sorry, I don't read that one. Give us a chance, we know how to treat our guests.

Fill Raiderguy in, then -- he's the one who didn't answer the direct question on the OAC board. :)

D3P-
You get up here and we'll go out looking for her. If we find her, I'll introduce you to her. :-*

Maybe you should fill him in.  We're not the ones upset about it.

Thanks everyone for the input. Right now we, my wife and 6 year old daughter, are planning on driving because I have never been up that way before. We are leaving Friday and driving straight through, approximately 15 hours. Going straight to the tailgate and game. After that I was looking at checking in at the Best Western Kelly Inn at St. Cloud, unless someone else has a better suggestion. Looking to do something Saturday after the game and all day Sunday. We will head back Sunday night or Monday morning. I asked my wife to skip the mall which she is considering but I need a good alternative. I'm not sure the Fair will be it. Probably would like to stay around the St. Cloud area. Pretty much open to any suggestions. By the way, I will keep my Crown Royal discreetly in my cup. Go Pios!

dbhammel

Very good plan.

Spend saturday afternoon/sunday exploring Saint John's.  Take your daughter to the beach if its nice enough at the lake on campus, rent a canoe and take to the lake, hike through the trails to the chapel, stand in awe at the church, absorb the peace that is the place.  Staying at the hotel in St. Cloud makes sense, but otherwise stay out of St. Cloud other than to eat if you need.  If you want home made authentic mexican travel west of Collegeville on 94 to Melrose (boyhood home of Blake Elliot) and eat at El Portal, owned by Rosa, a family friend who has immigrated from Mexico.  Above all else enjoy your time with your family on campus at SJU amongst its swaying pines and beauty.

"Hey Pat- Lighten up, will ya?" --- I was responding to that.

kcreds: They're right about the State Fair, though. It's not just cows and pigs.

Must be football season. I am out for a morning and miss 4 pages of posts, most of which had nothing to do with football.

Tmert, did you see the story on the Rose and Wimmer in the Times?
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Not true. Frankrickard picked up Madden 2008. That's football. ;D
