Greetings Old Wise Veek,

The Bus has cleared the calendar for a potential appearance in McMinnville on Dec. 3rd.  Potential exists for a showing at Whitewater in a couple weeks too if the Johnnies should have to travel to UWW in the 2nd round.  Next weekend should be a cupcake so we'll see.

Rumor that won't die: Tailgaters missed the cold bevies/kool-aid so often supplied by generous Veek and finsleft.  Hope they reemerge next weekend in Collegeville.

Just spoke with Kilted Rat.  They had 3 separate shotgun competitions today.  Duffman won all 3 with ease.  KR took 2nd twice and a 3rd.  ROR puked and had to quit.  OAS was too cool for the competition.

I have my team of attorneys drawing up papers for my defamation of character lawsuit.

ROR showed for the competition.  More than some can claim.

Noticed in the box that Good didn't play for SJU. Was that just for precautionary reasons? Was anything mentioned on the radio?

Hey guys! I think I witnessed the last 5 seconds of the last contest as I was walking up Cretin but I was too far away to make out any winners if any.  Great game, no worries throughout the game, too easy since the last time I made the trip to St. Paul.  I think the Johnnies used 3 formations the whole game and ran about 10 different plays.  The Tommies couldn't stop anything anyway so what did it matter?  Can't wait for 12 noon tomorrow to watch the selection show.  Even the rain wasn't too bad, it rained hard enough in the third quarter to get all them socializing Tommie and Johnnie faithfuls out of the way.  I realize its a good time to see old friends but some of us like to watch the game too.     Anyway it was a great time and it'll be interesting to see who we get next week!  I thought I heard them announce Good  as a starter, but maybe not.  The defense was great, they needed to triple team Dumo to keep him outta the backfield.

Actually maybe the box is just wrong because I noticed they had Royce-Diop listed as a starting linebacker for the Johnnies.

Next, I would like to say I was wrong,dead wrong! I felt AUG would give STO a game & felt BU would take care of GAC. I'm sorry I ever doubted your squad Frank & Mongo

This dude is scarey,you could see the beer in the can shaking as it knew it's fate. The fate I refer to is being run through Duffman's digestive tract. Kilted Rat can explain what that is all about. Ritz, my friend I know when I am wrong and I'm not affraid to admit it! Duffman would have had you leaving crying like a little school girl.

Good to see one & all at the tailgate party & if I start naming everyone I know I'll forget somebody. Thanks & see you all next week in Collegeville!

To Johns--
Congratulations on an undefeated season and conference title.  Too many mistakes by UST to make it much of a game.   Looked like all had fun at the pre game festivities, as I walked by.  Best of luck in the playoffs.

Whats this about not trusting me to bring a belt to Iowa? Are you actually in iowa? I just got beck to Des Moines after driving through some of the most ridiculous rain/hail and wind I have driven through in my life!


Duffman,
I bow to your superior shotgunning skills. I can handle losing to you everytime, but losing to a current SJU sophomore hurts the ego a bit. Drinking Glueks for the last race didn't help my cause much.

Did you ever figure out who was stealing all our Hamm's?

Game notes

Great game overall, SJU was a bit sloppy but the end result was great!

Royce-Diop's TD catch was a beautiful leap over the coverage and one handed tip back to himself.

Good definitely played, had some major tackles including blowing through a double team to make a tackle for a 2 yard loss on 3rd down.

Dumo had a pretty good game, but not by his standards. A few times I saw him stood up by only 2 linemen and one time the center handled him one on one in pass coverage

A few observations on today's game:
1.  St. Thomas should not fire Roney....as long as he is there the Tommies will suck and SJU will Gorilla Stomp them all over the field...and today could have been worse....the Johnnies offesense was very bland and basic and still rolled UST.

2. UST should get rid of their public address guy....I know he's been at it for years but he also sucks!  Would someone remind him that he is speaking into a microphone and there are speakers placed around the field...especially under the scoreboard and HE DOESN'T NEED TO YELL!!!
Also, during the 3rd quarter he got all jazzed up over what he thought was a big 3rd down stop by the Tommies....Note to self...when you're getting your ass handed to you 41-7 in the 3rd quarter there are no big 3rd down stops!

3.  And to anyone that was wondering how involved John Gagliardi is with running the team....If you witnessed the interception by SJU late in the 1st quarter that was returned to inside the five but brought back by an illeagal block.  I was standing on the track not too far from the SJU bench.  John laid into that official like young man of only 50 years old.  He was very displeased with the call and let about 3 officials know it.  I couldn't make out any profane language but ya never know!

4.  I also got the sense that UST had some recruits at the game.  Sure the Tommies performance was helpful!

If I could karmalize you Fuanch, I woudl heap it on you for those 2 points....if you think that PA guy is bad at football, you should hear him do hoops!
