What's so funny about a 59 year old playing? According to Frank in yesterday's Daily Planet, the Johnnies starting offensive tackles are  6'5" 255lb & 6'5" 290lb thespians.  ;D  :D
The older the violin - the sweeter the music!

Hey everyone, after 4 years of reading these postings I have decided to join in on the BS.  Although I wondered whether I wanted to partake in a board mainly consisting of former-Johnnies stroking their program I figured if you can't beat em on the field bash em on the board anonymously  ;D.  Seriously though I do really like MIAC football and am looking forward to this season, and as always hope the conference does well.
I like to picture my Jesus singing lead vocals for Lynard Skynard with like a band of Angels behind him, and I'm in the front row HAMMERED drunk!!!

Willy Wonka

Shake - The Johnnie posters can dish it out, but have a hard time receiving (see: tmerts dealing with any criticism regarding the Irish or red and white). Just be ready if you're going to call them out, or plan on sending certain SJU fans packages crosscountry containing elements of the field after getting blasted in their bowl to lose the conference title, as your karma may take a hit. But welcome aboard :)

Seriously, has anyone heard from TDT in any way, shape or form in the last month? He hasn't posted in any of his usual places and refuses to answer my calls. As much as I hate him, I hope he doesn't turn up in the news with an Eddie Griffin like death anytime soon...

Mongo and ROR - Watch your mouths. I'm more than willing to drive up to Collegeville a few times this year to eat all the free food and pretend to be angry at you.

GAC's new stadium sounds like it's going to be straight PACKED on Sept. 8. Every former footballer I've talked to in the last 5 months is going, as are plenty of non-footballers and even some old timers who love football but have no connection to the program. Could be straight bananas...I hope Brownie brings out the reverse pass for his first play of the season and it goes for an 80-yard touchdown.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Looks like SCSU football has some criminal trouble of their own involving a 14 year old girl

SJU'92-- Regarding UST, I just take consolation knowing that they haven't won a conference title outright since 1983, and haven't even tied for one since 1990, despite the common belief that they have as much or more talent and money in facilities than just about every other MIAC school.  Even Augsburg has won a conference title since then.  UST's glory days are almost as far back as the Gophers', since UST won 9 MIAC titles before Gags came to Collegeville (the first 30 years of the MIAC between 1920-1952) and only 5 in the 56 since.  But hey, remember, they had to play against Carleton then who were headed to the Big 10  ::)

Remember that tomorrow the Stiftungsfest celebration in Norwood Young America starts. Go to Stiftungsfest.org for the calendar of events. Hairball is playing tomorrow night. Miss Minnesota will be making an appearance on Sunday afternoon and will also be throwing out the first pitch at the state town team tourney in Norwood. The Stiftungsfest board tried to get Paris Hilton to make an appearance but she evidently has made plans for a surprise visit to the Stiftungsfestivities this fall and thought that one visit to Minnesota was enough. ;)

Speaking of the Stiftungsfestivities, we will have a porta-potty in place for this season along with a larger charcoal grill supplied by the university. We still have to provide the charcoal. Starting time will be 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1 in the parking lot above the scoreboard end of the field. Visiting fans are always welcome. Bring a culinary delight to share if you like.

BDB

After a 9 day run of staying in hotels, family of BDB is moving into a seasonal cabin next door to our house in shambles.

The cleaning company took 2 1/2 days to clean up the cabin which is rarely used. They found 2 dead bats. Hopefully that doesn't become a flippin' issue.  :P

In the meantime I've got to be at the Gridiron Classic for the next 2 days. http://www.uwstout.edu/athletics/football/redcedar/gridiron.htm

Nice timing.  ;)

Frank's blog today is about Hamline. Summary: they don't know who will be QB, or who will be RB, and their defense isn't quite set, but other than that, they should be solid.  :D

BDB- Glad to hear you're making progress on the home front. Remember, on Saturdays you can always run away and forget it all for a while.

S&B35-Here's a welcome karma for you. Even though that's all you may ever get from me, always remember who gave you your 1st one. ;)

92#57- yes, a very impressive avatar.

JR- A porta-potty? Can I still be in charge of the advertising? And a grill supplied by the university? I think we should hold out and make them supply the red cups, too.

Porta-potty? What about that nice area by the air-conditioners behind the dorm? Is TDT responsible for cleaning the Porta-potty after every game?
Should be a fun year on the field and on this boad will all the new posters-should learn more about the other MIAC teams this year.

I suggest re-naming the outdoor urinal before the Bethel game.

That pregnancy hotline really helped TDT out through some rough times.

This one actually does sound pretty sweet.  Although I think I'd rather do it with like Michigan or Carleton:

SPEND A GAME DAY WITH THE GATOR FOOTBALL TEAM

You and your guest will live every Gator's dream, spend a game day with the Gator football team (game to be determined by the University Athletic Association).  Your dream weekend begins with dinner at your favorite Gainesville restaurant.  Next you will head back to the team hotel to rest up for game day.  Game day begins eating breakfast with the team.  You will then load the buses with the team and head to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.  You and your guest will experience the "Gator Walk" as you follow the team through thousands of fans on your way into the stadium.  Once inside the stadium you and your guest will enter your locker room where your personalized Gator jersey is waiting for you.  You and your guest will watch team warm-ups from the sidelines, join the Gators in the locker room and hear Coach Meyer's pre-game speech and then take the field with the team running out the tunnel (don't forget to rub the Gator head).  You will have the best seats in the house as you catch all the action from the sidelines.  Your day ends with a special commemorative photo on-field.

This truly is the "Ultimate Gator Experience" and an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for every Gator Fan!

PLUS

    * Spend an afternoon with Coach Meyer and staff breaking down game film.
    * Invitation to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of new area followed by an exclusive reception upon the completion of the project.
    * On-field individual recognition during a home football game.
    * All perks at the $5,000 donation level.

I thought maybe the "Ultimate Gator Experience" would have something to do with Mrs. Meyer and a hotel. :o

How about the ultimate fishing experience?
The deck is 18ft x 18ft with 12 plastic  foam filled dock floats that are 4ft x 4ft by 18 inch. high.and the Gazebo is 10 ft. Hexagon with a table and chairs  inside.

Under the table is my trolling motor so I can take it out to my favorite fishing hole. The trolling motor is remote controled wireless so I can be  fishing outside and operate the motor. On the top of the table I have a LOWRANCE Fish-Finder with depth sounding sonars and temp gauge.

I have 2 electric winchs with 40# anchors. I have also built in a water pump so I can clean the fish right on the spot.

I guess this was built by a couple near Duluth. It's on the Fins must have list.
