Pat Coleman

I don't see how it would be. I was trying to welcome a new poster.

Actually Pat, I'm a junior at Olaf who was forced into retirement because of a concussion I got during fall camp.  I figured since the "no current players" rule no longer applied to me that I'd start posting to inform the rest of the board that Olaf is going to take the MIAC title this year.

Gotcha.

Yeah, the rule is put in by schools, not by us, so I would think you're set to go. :)

Welcome aboard. But I'm not sure sex charges are something to joke about publicly.

Is that a shot at my not playing football anymore because I didn't feel like risking brain damage?

concussedole, I suggest you look at your post from 8:33, reread what Pat said, and put that good St. Olaf education to work and figure out what Pat is trying to tell you.

Do you see the "modify" button in the upper right corner of your post?

Smedindy,

Welcome to the north country!

I know we have crossed swords......I mean chatted before, looking forward to meeting you in the future. As you know from reading this board a visit to Collegeville should be on your schedule. I think we also discussed your not being available for the 15th however, too bad should be a great double header opportunity for anyone as crazy as me.  ::)

See you soon.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Are or aren't?  I suspect you said it right the first time.

You're merely an ass.

He admitted it was in bad taste. How much of an ass do you have to be to pile on a guy who's admitted his mistake?

ROR -- no, he doesn't. New posters don't get a modify button.

Pat,
I misread your post.  I thought the the "r" was an "n".

ROR,
thanks for the heads up.
Believe it or not, I'm not as dumb as you may think.  I realize that the name "CONCUSSEDole" isn't helping my cause, nor is the fact that I misread a post on my second day posting.
I realize that the Luberts remark was in bad taste.  I apologize for that.

Perhaps if you were to just amend your screen name to CONFUSEDole (which I am quite sure many feel is the case) it would help to explain your posts.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

How much of an ass do you have to be to tell someone he has been an ass by calling another person an ass for making an Assinine comment about a young man whose ass is in a heap of trouble.  Assuming that the level of assdom  is classified by ones ability to assimilate into this classy conversation, I do believe we should all asscribe to leaving all the ass talk to the rightful people. . . the donkeys!!

ritz72,

As a person who knows about Coach Sinclair, he is a smart football mind and I think he will be a great leader at the high school level. I also have a feeling he will be liked a lot by his players. He commands the respect he needs from his players by being sociable enough to relate and treat them like humans yet he makes sure what needs to be done is done. Little Falls is giving a good guy a chance to show what he's got as a head coach. I'm sure he will be successful.

Everyone,

I would also like to say that the views expressed by ConcussedOle are not necessarily the views of the St. Olaf student body. We are a simple people who dine on such delicacies as lutefisk and lefsa. Usually, we do not try to dabble in the political and legal taboos that come our way via school, life or MIAC football (or is it that MIAC football is life?  ;) ). ConcussedOle has made some statements that may have not been in the best taste or may have insinuated unwarranted successes. Let us not shun or ridicule, but guide in a way to make more informed decisions. Remember, (whether you are religious or not) "Do not judge, lest be judged yourself. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-2    This passage is intended for everyone, including ConcussedOle.

       RO

p.s. If the passage was too much for anyone, I am sorry. Let me know and I will be sure to refrain from using them in future posts

RetiredOle-
In keeping with MN tradition (the land where nothing is legal and anything can be offensive), I found the scripture reference (and the post with the gratuitous use of the "A word") highly offensive and over the top ;D ::).  Welcome to the board!

FreeBird-
Your post asking for Johnson to be fired is so laughable I'm not sure if it was meant in jest, but for discussion sake I'll assume that you're serious.  Is Coach Johnson himself an alumnus of the program?  Yes.  Has be brought a sustained level of success unlike anything else Bethel football has had in its history?  Yes.  Does he fit in with the kind of leadership and mentorship that Bethel wants from its coaches?  Yes.  In light of these facts, I'd say the man has earned the right to stay a while longer ;).  Let's say you get your wish and Johnson gets canned; do you have somebody in mind that could take the program to that "next level"?  Or would you just pull a Red McCombs and fire a coach without an obviously better replacement option?

You are welcome.

I don't think you are dumb, that is why I pointed this out to you.

The Luberts situation has been hashed and rehashed on PP.  Johnnies were the most vocal in their criticism of Mr. Luberts actions.  I hope this is the end of that, I'm sure it's not.
