I will definitely be there for the tailgating. What about friday night? The boys from Cobber Nation are coming up after class friday and want to see what Collegeville has to offer during the nightlife. Any suggestions?? Better yet, anyone want to take the lead and show us the ropes?

Where are you staying Friday night? There's a Super 8 in St. Joe that's convenient and an AmericInn in Avon that's also convenient, but less so.

St. Joe:
• Sal's is on Minnesota and is a favorite student bar
• The LaPlayette is on College Ave and is the other student hangout
• Loso's (The Midi) is between the two on Minnesota and is more of a townie bar
• The American Legion is on Minnesota between Loso's and Sal's and is...the Legion
• The El Paso is off County 75 just west of "downtown" St. Joe and is more of a townie bar

Avon:
• The Liquor Locker is across the street from the hotel
• I've never consumed a drink at a bar in Avon before so someone else will have to recommend spots

St. Cloud:
• The Red Carpet downtown is a young person favorite, but I never went there
• Downtown has many other establishments, but my friends and I stuck with St. Joe because St. Ben's is right there of the free bus back to St. John's

Enjoy!

We are staying on campus with a buddy. What I'm really interested in is where you all are gonna be. I'd rather chill with you guys!

But, many of us are old enough to be your dad........ or in 57Johnnie's case, grandfather
Have you seen our website www.JohnnieFootball.com

I'd say have your buddies bring you to Sal's or The La

Maybe the Buckhorn in Avon ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I hope to be asleep early so I can make it up to C'ville bright and early Saturday morning.  We can all chill then.

And, like many of us, I'm old enough to be your father.  :'(

For johnniefootball.com, it might be cool to have a little history section as well. Some recaps/profiles of memorable games, seasons, players, etc.

I'm not that old, but I don't think I'll be up there Friday night.  Be sure to stop by the Stiftungsfestivities on Saturday morning and introduce yourself with your real name and your d3football.com moniker.

If you're staying with buddies who are current students, I will bet Sal's or the La Playette will be your destination.  I'm partial to the La, but Sal's seems to be the more popular student bar these days.  If you're looking to get away from the noise for a bit, stumble over to the Legion from Sals.

Horan's Heroes

I like hanging out with my dad. Better yet... my buddies' dads. But that's fine. I'd love to settle for a sweet burger.

(adult beverages ok?)

I'm not old enough to be anyone's father (not anyone who can read, anyway), but I won't be in Collegeville Friday night, either. I will be there Saturday morning, though. And TC, stop complaining about your free lift north. So I was a bit late. It happens. ::)

HH, adult beverages are acceptable for those old enough to drink 'em. Just be sure to grab a red cup.
Nice day, huh?

Thanks a lot for the responses. I'm really looking forward to a great time saturday and even more to a good football game. In my three years of CC vs. SJU, It has proven to be a good matchup.

True, but I make up for it by being very immature. ;D

Willy Wonka,

Is Wonka Sr. going to make it to Collegeville this week?  Let him know Stan "The Man" Nelson's grandson Jesse is the Concordia QB.

Is Maroon close enough? ;)

Nope, we require cardinal. ::)

I believe there might be a picture of a cardinal on a case of Hamm's.  That's all the cardinal I have!

Did anyone outside of Minnestoa, Wisconsin try to watch the tape of the SJU v. UW-River Falls game yesterday? I have DirectTV in Illinois and have the sports pack and the game was blacked out! :'(

Same here. Really pissed off.

One of the regional Foxsports had it on early Saturday (12:30am out here), which I picked up with Comcast cable.
