chips from the office would be a great touch, don't know how we'd keep them from getting cold and soggy, but we'll see what we can do about that one

Some people in Jonestown would argue that even Cyanide goes great with koolaid.

This week Augsburg has St. Olaf.  That is a tough start to the schedule for the Auggies.  I expect Olaf to have few problems this week, but I believe it is Homecoming for the Auggies which might mean a little extra motivation.

Special note to the Wabash fan, the Monon Bell will return to DePauw this year.  Go Tigers!

Dear Informed,

What is so magical about this chips from Mick's?  I've heard much good about this establishment from Cobber buds over the years but have yet to make an appearance.  Please advise.

Cobbers:  Remember plenty of cold bevies for the Stiftungsfestivities.  We usually come out at halftime for a few libations as well...

Amazing how liberally TDT uses such a term when he attends two games a year...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

It's not that the chips are all that great, it's that on a Saturday morning you can get a whole platter of them, along with a burger and a bucket of cheap domestic beer, for $5 (and have money left for the tip), all just a long walk or a short drive from the Jake.

And how have you never been to the Office?  I vaguely remember seeing you in Moorhead in a dank, party-house basement at 3 in the morning on multiple occasions--but you've never visited Mick?  Does not compute.

I have a ton of family graduate from DePauw.  It was about 3 on my list of schools.  I was not real happy with the quality of student life at DePauw, but I still defend the school.  I had a good friend go to Wabash so I do know a little about that school.  I think I could make a strong argument as the Monon Bell game being the biggest rivalry game in D3 football.

smedindy

You'd get no argument from here! Keith McMillan visited it a couple of years ago and was duly impressed, even though he did go to Greencastle. At any rate, it's what rivalries should be all about - ruthless competition amongst peer schools that do the right things the right way.

11,500 people plus about 50 parties across the country can't be wrong, can it?

Anyway, looking forward to some good football action up here as well.

Did anyone outside of Minnestoa, Wisconsin try to watch the tape of the SJU v. UW-River Falls game yesterday? I have DirectTV in Illinois and have the sports pack and the game was blacked out! :'(

I am a bit behind on reading the board! I was at a friend's place and was so excited to see that they had the Minnesota FoxSports channel. I rushed through my morning so that I could be infront of the TV at 11 am on Sunday only to find out the game was being blacked out. Much swearing later I ended up watching a movie instead! ;D

I just got back from two days in beautiful Bend OR. I had to go up there for work. On Monday night I hiked to the summit of Pilot's Butte. It is one mile up (I know, no big deal), but you gain 480 feet in elevation over the course of that mile. My quads are letting me know that they didn't think it was a good idea. The panoramic views at sunset were breathtaking. Those are the moments when I really love Oregon! ;D If you guys ever get the chance to go to Bend, take it! The city is lovely. There are some great golf courses and plenty of fly-fishing in the summer and sking in the winter.

A couple bass fisherman from down south heard how great the fishing was in Minnasota and decided one winter to give it a try. on the way to the lake they stopped to pickup some bait and ice picks. A few hours later they returned to the bait shop in need of a couple more picks which the owner gladly sold them. It wasn't more than a couple hours later when agian they popped into the bait shop and asked the clerk for all the ice picks he had. The clerk said " sorry boys you bought me out last time in but hey, what ya need all those picks for anyway. One of the down south boys, looking completely exhausted said "we ca't get the damn boat in the water.
