I can see the excuses in 2 weeks....
1) We beat each other up so bad in the WIAC, we are tired by the playoffs.

To travel back in time to Saturday - since I haven't posted since watching the GAC/BU game - here's my attempt at a recap.

BU blows to start the contest as they fall behind 21-0 before they seem to realize it's a real game. GAC blows after a lightning delay clears the field for 15 minutes or so. GAC tries to throw the game when they destroy the punter on a 4th and 8, except the ref calls running into the punter instead of roughing in a VERY questionable call. GAC then tries to run out the clock by throwing the ball...into BU's hands. Except one of their LBs drops the pick that easily could have gone for six and won the game. Then GAC gives it back with a blocked punt two plays later. Then BU fumbles on the 3 yard line, giving it to their fullback rather than the all-everything running back. BU offensive lineman kicks GAC defensive lineman on the ground (talked to him after the game, he's a good guy despite the Pele impersonation). GAC takes the safety and then knocks down the hail mary pass to end the game.

Truly a strange, if entertaining, game. Everyone knew GAC was going to be bad this year...but what happened to Porta running over everyone for the MIAC title? They were only a game better than Carleton...

Ubbes is a stud, but he doesn't have much help on that defense - especially in the secondary. Just like Kofoed wouldn't be good with, say, Mac's receivers.

Willy, great game recap. It sounds like a comedy of errors the likes of which we've not seen since the Vikes last took the field (what, you think those were the real Vikes yesterday on special teams and defense? Har!).
