I'm with Duffman on this.  Does it really matter how strong your conference is or where it ranks by some arbitary source?  If SJU played in the UMAC (Northwestern Crown Trinity various other cupcakes) and got to play MUCk in Salem each year I'd be a happy camper...

frankrickard, they do permit adult beverages at the park.

What can the Red Wing contingent bring to this week's Stiffyfest, besides a solid anti-STO attitude? I'm currently trying to talk a man a little older than ROR (Yes, it's possible) into attending with me; he was a 3-year starter at QB for SJU back in the day and hasn't seen a game for 20-30 years, unless he snuck out to the UW-RF game a few weeks ago.

DustySJU - Working on a slimmed down piece for you but headed into a long staff meeting shortly. Might not come until later tonight/tomorrow...disappointed my 2 hours of work last night won't see the light of day.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

That's alright.  I heard it sucked.

The L&M in Dundas WAS a fine establishment. I had a many a night of walking back to Olaf from Dundas, its feels like a much shorter walk when you've had a few.

I second that

The Olaf defense is better than what they displayed against Augsburg.  They have a good shut down CB.

Would that be the dread-locked gangsta who helped hold GAC's starting receivers to 18 catches for 249 yards last year or Augsburg's dominant duo to 26 for 351 and 4 TDs last week?

Penalties and a short field hurt the Oles against Augsburg.

I could be wrong, but 421 yards passing does not suggest a short field.

Deontae (Dread-locked gangsta) did start out last years game against St. Johns with a first Quarter pick for 6, but was called back for offsides... sweet play nonetheless, jumped a hitch and took it the distance....

BlueDevil Bob:  That sounds like either Veek or Ritzy.  BTW: it sounds like johnniefootball.com is producing business for you.  We'd love to have you on board as the Official Convenience Store of JF.com

Always makes me smile when the highlights for the team playing SJU is when they make a play that gets called back because of a penalty....

Better highlights include Oles win @ SJU 2001, Oles win at home vs. SJU 2004!

So will it handle a pie floater?

MMmmmmm.....  Pie floaters.  For those that have not traveled down this way, the pie floater is the Devil's food.  So bad, yet so good you could eat until your stomach pops.

A pie floater is a meat pie floating in a bowl of split-pea soup (you may find a little local variation on the soup, but what hearty soup is better on a cold day that split-pea?).  A meat pie (no snickers - you all have been listening to the KQ morning show too much) is similar to a chicken pot pie, only the Aussies fill the little free-standing pie pastry with a hamburger and gravy (and gristle and fat and .... everything that makes it bad) mixture that is deadly addictive.

The Grand Final of Aussie Rules is this weekend - we're right in the heart of pie weather.  I could go for a floater right now...

In 2006, the MIAC was ranked #9 in Massey as well.

Right now Massey ranks MIAC at #6.  Of course, it's early in the season and they also rank the Johnnies at #17 and Mt Union at #36.  Gotta let a few more rounds go by, I guess.
