If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Willy Wonka, how about bringing a shrimp tray with some sauce for dipping? This always goes over well. Also bring the beverage of your choice.

I graduated from Grand Rapids HS up 'nord' and the Hamms Beer theme was our unofficial school tune, back when the Indians where still the Indians.  The pep band (they used to have a stand up in rafters above the zamboni garage, before a remodel, from which tunes would come drifting down over the ice - good effect) used to belt that ditty out to rave applause.  Sometime in the late 80's, I believe, some do-gooders decided that a beer theme wasn't appropriate for HS.  And the Hamms Beer theme was no longer heard on the hallowed IRA ice.  And that is a damned shame.

My Wednesday night was always at Brad's in Dundas.  I was always a fan of grabbing some booze from the Firehouse liquor store in Dundas.  My friends still around Northfield really like a new bar in town  by the China Buffet.

I guess my post did not go through last night.  It was a nice little dissertation.  Most of the starters on D were out of the game a lot earlier than usual.  I think the D will be very good this week.  Also Deontae has shut down D1 transfers this year.  His speed forces a QB to focus on another side of the field.

I could be way off, but I'm pretty sure Stolp will still throw to his D3 preseason AA who is 2nd in the nation in receptions/game and 3rd in yards/game. If Deontae's as good as you say (for the record, I don't think he is), I hope to see him following Arlt all over the field in two days.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Wow, air time was a whole lot cheaper back in the day, huh? I think we've seen the last of 1:21-long beer commercials.
Nice day, huh?

Senor RedTackle

hello from the Liberty League. Redtackle is hoping there's another RPI/SJU matchup this year. Stay tuned.

BTW, Touchdown Tommy will be a special guest on an RPI pregame show in Nov...stay tuned

Re: Mr. Hutchins

In last year's game, the box score has him for three solo tackles and two passes defended. Two of those three receptions went for first downs (one to Gearman, one to Weber) and one of the two passes defended was on third down and ended a drive. Looks like a relatively even matchup.

However, the other corner, Mr. Lund, was the leading tackler for STO in the game and took two penalties, including a personal foul.

When I was in Northfield last year, the friends I still new at college said they always went to that newer bar by the China Buffet, it seemed alright, I think part of it was that beer became more expensive at the Reub which I noticed the last time I was there as well, it is basically city prices now.
