Honestly, guys, shut the F up about Kofoed.  He's a hell of a quarterback who happens to be stuggling on the same day some other guys are stuggling--on a day where a grass field's been turned into a mud bowl.  If a couple other people don't cough up fumbles or a break a tackle here or there no one is saying anything...

I'm certainly not the world's biggest Kofoed apologist, but this is ridiculous.

Yeah, Patnode's had two killer plays too, despite a lot of yards: the fumble, and then that penalty when the Johnnies would have been inside the 10.

Please-he is a pre-season All-American and a four year starter-he needs to make better decisions. If he can't throw due to the weather then don't throw it!

Let me see if I get this logic:

1.)  The footing is terrible.
2.)  It is so bad that SJU cannot even plant
3.)  It is causing Kofoed an inability to get his timing down
4.)  But we moved the ball pretty well in the first half.
5.)  And the footing is just strong enough to allow the Carleton defensive line to get good pressure on Kofoed on each play, and to prevent us now from running the ball.
6.)  And it is enough to allow Carleton to score TDs and also to move the ball.

I disagree TC, he has been inconsistent his entire 4 yr career.  One week we have Joe Montana the next we have Shawn Salisbury.  3 INTs and very poor decision making so far today.  He is deserving as the General of the criticism being sent his way.  When you get all the credit heaped on ya for great games i.e. last week's Stomp you have to take the criticism as well...

Agreed.  As I said early, Patnode+Offensive line is what will win the game, but one the former fumbles and the latter isn't giving the ability to run the ball, we won't win the game.

This is a game where Kofed will have to play differently than he is used to.  Has 10 minutes to figure it out.  If he does he moves up from good to great in the history of SJU QB's.  If he doesn't....well....

Bull.  He had a game like this his frosh year.  Also in Northfield.  He apparently didn't learn from it.  He needs a bit more to bring him into the elite category.
