Why does SJU have to have a game like that anyway?

Good News- From reading the stats the kicking game worked well in very poor conditions.  When the offense has games like that it is nice to have the Johnnie D and 4 points from the kicking game.

New Top 25 Poll up fellas.  Hardly any changes...

SJU only lost 3 points from the week before--virtually no change, almost entirely due to a few voters bumping UW-W up with their big win, I'd imagine.

Pretty impressive that St. Olaf jumped 3 teams that also won this week on the strength of their big win over GAC.

And just to show how ridiculous the whole poll business is, voters were so impressed by Bethel's 1 point win over 0-4 St. Thomas that their vote total nearly doubled, 12 to 20.

TDT, don't kill yourself trying to make it up to the game next weekend, I'm sure we'll be able to get by without you.

If anybody really wants to know what happened yesterday just go back on PP and you will see the tide turned when I got the Redenbachers out.  ;D
I sure don't want to have to risk popcorn lung too often.  :P

Duff is back in town with a bunch of soggy stuff :-[  What a wet weekend on the North Shore!!!

I could barely pull in WBHR up at Tettegouche, but I managed to hear that the game was delayed, then I nearly had a heart attack as I heard Carleton score in the third.  At that point we hiked out to Shovel Point and came back in time to catch the end of the post-game show.  What a relief!!!

There's about a million thoughts rolling in my head about the game, but I don't want to incur VOJ's wrath for expressing them ;)  In the end, a win is a win.  Like mentioned, I really hope this is a wake-up call for the offense.  Thank God for Johnnie D.

Let's put this one behind us :o

That explains the wide margin of victory at home games. The entire crowd is eating Redenbachers  ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Glad to get the W yesterday, but no more dwelling in the past. It's Ole week. Let's get started, shall we?

All of his life Ole had heard stories of an amazing family tradition.
It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 21st birthday. On that day, they'd walk across the lake to the boat club for their first legal drink.
So when Ole's 21st birthday came around, he and his pal Corky took a boat out to the middle of the lake.
Ole stepped out of the boat and nearly drowned!
Corky just managed to pull him to safety.
Furious and confused, Ole went to see his grandmother. "Grandma, it's my 21st birthday, so why can't I walk across the lake like my father, his father, and his father before him?"
Granny looked into Ole's eyes and said, "Because, you dumb ass, your father, grandfather and great grandfather were born in January, you were born in July."

Ole, Where is the Noble Sports Complex. I don't get that way too often anymore. I guess I could Google, but I.m a lazy retired fart.

OK, the Bears-not so good-that is all I can say-Lovie-maybe not the coach the brass thought he was-but no QB also.
ROR-I was displeased at the Johnnies-but I think the Js will win by the two touchdowns.
I agree, let's focus on this coming game and as TC posted yesterday-Kofoed seems to play at the top of his game at home-so I'm going with that.

The website should help.  I think SJU/Augsburg have a game at 8AM.  It is the SJU Frosh team.  This will be Augsburg's first game ever.

Mark Hellenack is the SJU coach, but I have heard his official title with the school is recruiting coordinator.  His information is on the page and you can contact him for more info.

The Oles are good, much better than I saw from them a year ago in fact. Penz hit tons of wide open receivers, but put the ball in the perfect spot whenever there was coverage. He was impressive, as was the Ole line who allowed zero pressure up front.

I was telling people before the game that Schmeising was better than Gant...and then Schmiesing caught the first 2 TDs, Gant made a bananas diving one-handed catch that BE would have a hard time replicating...and then Schmiesing added 2 more. Tough to dispute Meidt's claim in the paper after a game like that.

I'd still be concerned if I were an Ole fan. Fortman has a slow get-off as a punter and only two nice tackles from him prevented 14 quick special teams points for the Gusties.

Stolp stared down Arlt before throwing the pick into TaTa's chest — though he got his revenge for a TD on the next drive — that ended a horrendous start for GAC. Their first three plays were: delay of game, false start and INT. Clearly, Evil Stolp reared his head at the worst game possible. At the risk of going 56321 on my team, Stolp looked bad yesterday. Hopefully he can bounce back next week at Bethel in another important game.

On the plus side, the loss wasn't the worst part of the day for my crew...Frank's old college roomie had some gay dude grind on him at a bar last night. It was awkward and almost started a fight. As for the shrimp...the leftovers sure tasted good yesterday night; looks like I outsmarted the SJU clan with my frozen shrimp that barely got touched  ;D

The best part of the game was easy to pick, since the Gusties had so few highlights. Baby Biggins and his clan of shirtless nerds stood in the endzone creating stupid chants before every single play. Once involved telling Brownie to get off the field as he called his audibles. The ref promptly turned around and told these chumps to get off the field themselves. I can only guess at the type of reception they'll receive in Collegeville if they pull that next week, including circling the track after scores...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

The play where Arlt scored was one of the few when Deontae wasn't actually responsible for him. So, 2 catches for 13 yards from a pre-season AA? I would say Deontae had a good game.
