Well, if the primary options went to Texas or Oklahoma, then I bet the secondary options who went to Trinity were pretty darn nifty. Unless we're talking about Trinity Bible - and then I could probably make their offensive line. Right now. At age 41. With no practice. Praise the Lord.

Scary thought of the day: Only 7 months and 24 days until I can actually write prescriptions!

Scary thought, indeed. ;)

BTW, KR, you shoulda been born Jewish ...

The first Jewish President of the United States calls his mother in Queens and invites her to come down for Thanksgiving.  She says, "I'd like to, but it's so much trouble ...  I mean, I have to get a cab to the airport, and I hate waiting on Queens Blvd..."  He replies, "Mom! I'm the President! You won't need a cab - I'll send a limousine for you!"

To which his mother replies, "I know, but then I'll have to get my ticket at the airport, and try to get a seat on the plane, and I hate to sit in the middle ... it's just too much trouble."  He replies, "Mom!  I'm the President of the United States!  I'll send Air Force One for you - it's my private jet!"

To which she replies, "Oh, well, but then when we land, I'll have to carry my luggage through the airport, and try to get a cab ... it's really too much trouble."  He replies, "Mom!! I'm the President!  I'll send a helicopter for you!  You won't have to lift a finger"

She answers, "Yes, that's nice ... but, you know, I still need a hotel room, and the rooms are so expensive, and I really don't like the rooms..."  He answers, "Mom!  I'm the President!  You'll stay at the White House!"

She responds, "Well ... all right ... I guess I'll come."

The next day, she's on the phone with her friend Betty:

Betty:  "Hello, Sylvia ... so what's new?"

Sylvia:  "I'm visiting my son for Thanksgiving!"

Betty:  "The doctor?"

Sylvia:  "No ... the other one."

Right, and I'm sure every member of Olaf's Florida pipeline was the primary option at his respective H.S  ::)

Then later on one of the Student-athletes at this "demanding school" upon seeing a buggy pass by asked if they were "pilgrims."

Apparently part of the "demand" to go to St Olaf doesn't involve any sort of history knowledge to know that the pilgrims came nearly 4 centuries ago.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I think the matchup I am most excited for is one that will get no press. Tolen vs. Salvato. Both these guys are huge and very good. Salvato has the experience but I have yet to see anyone who can block Tolen. Other matchups may be prettier but there will be no bigger slug-fest than between these two.

I can vouch for Salvato being very tough, but I have never heard of Tolen and certainly didn't notice him at all this past weekend.  I don't know if you can be most excited for a match-up between a solid offensive lineman and a d-tackle with 1 sack and 10 total tackles (7 assisted) 4/10ths the way thru the season!

Duff- Better than Albany and Alex in '98? ;)

My ankle was in a cast for that Alex game, and I was stuck on the offensive side of the ball versus Albany due to my ankle :P

What were you, 11 or 12 back then?  :D ;)

I'm not sure how old I was, but it was old enough for you to date a girl in my grade :o.  Senior to sophomore love seeemed to be rampant then tho!

I guess NOT going to a demanding school has hindered the ability to realize humor. This comment, while it happened, was a joke by Horace.

Tolen is a very good player. Does Pat Williams register a lot of tackles or sacks? He takes up space and helps stop the run. The #1 objective of a nose guard is not about sacks, its taking up space and stopping the run. Tolen will be an excellent match-up against Salvato.

Well I guess while you are enthralled by some guys taking up space and stopping the run I will be watching two of the most entertaining offenses and athlete's (see: Gant, Kofoed, Schmeising, and Patnode) in the conference battle it out.  I agree that a good interior battle is fun to watch, but I prefer it to be between two big men who can move (which I know Salvato can) and do more than "take up space and stop the run".

The point is that was an overrated SJU team.  Jeremy Boyce was talented, but most people on that team felt his backup was a little better with the football.  He also had to share possession with future NFLers in Reggie Newhouse and Don McGee.  The better Texas HS teams would give the top D3 teams a run for their money.  Go watch SLC, Katy, Westlake, etc...  You will start to see how good those teams are at football.  Those teams have players who are ready to play at the D1 level.

Yea Clausen is doing real well now. They might be able to stay close for a quarter, but beat a top 25 team no way. They are still in high school. That's the problem with the way people view D3 Football-it is just good high school football.

Wait, losing in the national semis makes a team overrated? I'll remember that the next time STO goes 12-2. Wait...

You're right, med school isn't very demanding, but SJU sure was ;D

Could someone please teach me how to recognize humor?

Kilted Rat,

Nice to see you back.  Where have you been?  How are the rotations going?

Just got back from San Diego, I'm in Des Moines for a week then off to Virginia for another Navy rotation.

Rotations are going well! A helluva lot better than classes! How is your son doing? Cardiology test coming up I hear!

Good point shoes.

We should let St Olaf win a playoff game before we let them decide who is and who isn't over-rated!

All I'm saying is if you want an inflated GPA, go to SJU. If you want a REAL education, go to St. Olaf.
